We're not scoring more in general at all. Our biggest wins this season were against the likes of Everton, Utd, Cardiff, Bournemouth and they all featured Kane, come to think of it, I think he scored in all of those too.
Why bigsmithy, they hardly had a look in in the second half? NEVER in doubt. I could continue to talk about Kane but there's no point.
Have we scored 3 in the last 16 before? I remember under Redknapp we scored well in the group stages then the goals dried up a bit in the knockout stages. Now it's the other way around so a good omen.
In my view, it proves that Kane can\should be rested a bit more often instead of him so often being run into the ground. I know he wants to play every game but sometimes the good of the team means you have to be rotated so that you and the other players are all sharp. What it also means is that any potential incoming striker will know they're going to get some game-time and actually join us instead of steering clear as has so often been the case.
Sorry, I think you missed the narrative there. Our squad depth is poor because we did not buy anyone in the transfer window. Apparently.
Back from the match... Suuuuu-perrrrrr, Suuuuu-perrrrrr Jan, Suuuuu-perrrrrr, Suuuuu-perrrrrr Jan, Suuuuu-perrrrrr, Suuuuu-perrrrrr Jan, Suuuuu-perrrrrr Jan Vertonghen I was ****ing glad when that drum shut up. Geeeeeermans....
Dunno what to say really. Just another incredible performance, it's mad to see how far we've come over the past few years. Time to start Googling where the CL final is being played and booking flights
Does anyone know if there was some significance to the 26th minute for Dortmund? They went utterly silent, including the drums.
Got home at mid night...took 50 mi utes to get into wembley tube station...stood on a hot very over crowded tube from Wembley to Canning Town and then on the DLR...have a sore throat from screaming all night but I am one truely happy mo fo!!! 3 fecking nil...THREE...just wow. Vertonghen was outstanding but special mention to Winks, Sissoko and Toby who were very very good. Lloris is back to his best too. That was on hell of a good night COYS
What a great night - Strange first half performance, thought Dortmund were the better side and but for what looked like a wonder save from Lloris we would have gone in a t HT a goal behind - that save was as good as a goal and Lloris proved his worth again with that. 2nd half just superb not sure exactly what we changed but the early goal was vital and after that there was only 1 side in it. 11 heroes last night, we are all running out of superlatives for Sonny, and for Moussa. Super Jan amazing particularly 2nd half, Toby was imperious, Winks industrious and the potential in young Foyth is breathtaking that young man is a going to be a star. Yes there were some heart in your mouth moments, but I think that we have real gem there. All done again without Dele and Harry, but the first half showed how we DO miss Harry at times, as our forwards were to easily bullied by their defence. Big shout out to the fans too atmosphere inside Wembley was superb last night and fair play to their fans who were brilliant all night.
