No .... lower Caemawr Road. Great place to watch the cars and buses struggle going up and slalom on the way down in the winter.
Just for my dudes Scott and Doey, here's a cracking picture of the view from Pantycelyn Rd to bring back all those lovely memories............ http://media.rightmove.co.uk/64k/63641/19423428/63641_PMP44114_IMG_00_0000_max_200x138.JPG
Just as I remember it! Breathe it in boys, it's beautiful.... Sunrise in Swansea Bay; http://www.flickr.com/photos/scotttukai/5323063959/
the street i am going to have a good time in 2013, bringing one of my old progs over so i can see the business changes in the prog sponsors in 1964 as mentioned in a previous post. just need a good motel to stay in.
Mill Lane, BLackpill - because I used to live in Clyne castle up the top when it was a hall of residence. The Promenade, Mt Pleasant, because it had the best bedsit I've ever stayed in + the view. Parc Avenue, Plasmarl - a gorgeous punkette used to live there. Any street in Northill - for the view. Any street in Cwmdonkin - for the peace and quiet. Gwylfa Rd, Townhill - cos I'm proper glad I don't live there anymore. Wind Street in the 70s/8Os, when it had a few proper trad pubs, chancers, old geezers, sailors, punch drunk boxers, ladies of the night, lunatics and generally mad, marginal people. (It's a dull as f*** place today - same old anywhere sort of place) Could reel off scores more. Plenty of memories, good and bad.
cwmdonkin terrace isn't a very big street. but a few of us have spent time there. i first came to swansea in 86 and lived in a bedsit at #6 for 3 years. the view was stunning from there. it was that same view that sold me my first house in terrace road. loved living there. but that climb up constitution hill after a good piss up wasn't easy.
My grandfather lived in the caravan park on Mill Lane. He did live in a lovely cottage up the hill off Mill Lane, out in the wilderness. I wish we still had it, my father sold it and I remember it going on the market some 10 years ago for around the 750k mark.
Best street: Wind st on a Wednesday night. Bitches be running wild! Worst street: Wind st on a Saturday night. Roiders galore!
Worst street is High Street, which is an embarassing gateway to our city to any visitors getting off the train.
