For me he is up there with Mike Walker as one of the best Norwich managers in my lifetime . I wouldn't be surprised to see him keep Ipswich up , you played quite well today but had zero up front.. Ipswich are missing pace down the flanks and a striker they didn't look too bad in other areas.
That’s partly down to team selection. Edwards who was one of our better players at the start of the season on the right hasn’t had a look in under Lambert.
That was one of the worst Norwich performances I’ve seen this season, we struggled to keep the ball and get our passing game going, but didn’t really need to get out of second gear in the end. An off day for us but there has to also be credit to you boys for the closing down work. Reasons to be hopeful for Ipswich I thought. Pennington looked decent at CB. The last few Derby match’s i have struggled to understand what Skuse does for you to get in the team every week? When’s Adeyami back to fitness? You’re missing mobility in midfield, pace on the wings and a clinical striker.
Pennington will go back to Everton in May so not really a positive. I guess it will be taking Championship players on loan next season, not the better of the Premier League ones.
Next season is an interesting one. Hypothetically, if (when) we go down & Lambert remains in charge. He has stated repeatedly how much he hates having loan players (we only have the 6 in the squad at present so he couldn’t bear Jewell’s record) he will have to shape the team how he sees fit - without loan players. Hopefully our youngsters - Wolfy, bishop, Lankester etc will all be given a lot more chances in the 1st team. On the issue of younger players, does anyone know what has happened to dozzell?
I’ve repeatedly said I think Andre will be off,he’s probably our most saleable asset and whenever I’ve seen him at PR his whole demeanour shouts “I’m not happy”
Well based on what I saw of Andre v Accrington, he's just not remotely ready. A lot of work to be done, was the worst player on the pitch first half.
Anybody seen Chambo's interview on iFollow? https://www.itfc.co.uk/ifollow/ Played with an injury and heavily suggested that there are some in the squad that should be doing the same. He wasn't happy about the result and I thought he looked genuinely upset.
Hadn’t seen that but I did see an interview with him in The Times yesterday where he said he’s losing sleep over our predicament, good to see he cares. As he says we need a few more prepared to leave nothing on the pitch so at least we feel we’ve not gone down without a fight(which can’t be said for many of our performances this Season)
Hard to watch, going to be a difficult few months ahead for everyone at the club whether they react by working hard or going missing. If they had showed the levels of commitment we saw today earlier on in the season there’s no way we’d be in this situation, Chambo included.
Did you see the first half v Accrington? I'm not saying he won't be a good player - technically he's excellent - right now he's not strong enough at this level / age group against older players. He may be good enough vs other players of his age / strength level but he's got to get stronger and up to the tempo. I quite like him, but he's not good enough at present for championship football.
I didn't see that but I've previously said I don't think he's anywhere near as strong or influential as his father was at the same age.
“The wheel always turns, it might not be one year, it might not be two. But let’s see what happens when it does” My interpretation of this would be that Lambert has given up on survival?
Dozzell was poor at Accrington but to be honest he's never impressed me, he has the skills undoubtedly but as Westy said he's far too lightweight and gets pushed around too easily, this may change of course as he grows but at the moment I'm not overly bothered whether he stays or goes.
Dozzell isn't the player you want in the middle when we're in a relegation fight* *Does it count as a fight if we don't seem to be fighting.
