Zimmerman’s temperament was perfect today from a captain, aggressive when he needed to be and also broke up our players before they got themselves in trouble by dragging them away. A real leader of the team, great to see!
Goal difference could mean an extra point if it stays that way. Only West Brom have more than us (22/21). They play the Blades on Wednesday!
Much predicted score across the media. Are we forgetting what Lambert did for this club not that many seasons ago? Perhaps I am old fashioned. ITFC as they are now remind me of NCFC when we got demoted to League 1. Lots of loan players with little financial backing from the owner. How things have changed since the beginning of the season when many of us were calling for DF to be sacked.
No i agree too. Sure he left us for another team, but that doesnt undo all the hard work and success he brought us. You can be annoyed that he didnt believe in the Norwich project as much as we wanted him too, but he was instrumental in creating that project. Thats much more important. But we live in an age of outrage and moral absolutism, so he can either be saviour or devil and nothing in between sadly.
More professional fouls to break up an attack rather than really nasty ones - e.g. Trybull. And then Cantwell’s idiocy. The commentators suspected a red card but I have to say I thought the ref got the decisions right there, other than the stamp on Buendia’s foot
Flynn Downes should have seen red, but at the final whistle, it had no bearing on events. Hopw super Mario is OK - horrible to see him sat in the dug out with that ankle protector on.
Did he do something right at the end? Yeah hopefully just precautionary for Vrancic as he’s been integral
Must be my Yellow and Green glasses. I thought Ips were more aggressive with petty, unnecessary fouls.
Oh definitely agree with you, I just thought on balance the yellows were probably the correct decision in pretty much each case The refs were pretty good today
Quote from Lambert on Canary Call: "I'd do it again. Good guys don't win anything." Well Paul, who is winning things and who isn't?
Quite amusing seeing some Ipswich supporters judging us based on that one performance when in truth we beat a poor team without even needing to try. Felt like in the 1st half they were trying to take out Vrančić though.
So, Vrancic rolled his ankle. Doesn't sound good for Preston on Wednesday. Isn't Leitner supposed to be back? I expected him to make the bench today.
Preston away from one ex manager to another. Probably a harder prospect than today but if we can beat Leeds in their back yard we should have enough to beat Preston.
Just been on the Ipswich site for their perspective- wish I hadn’t. Many posters utter hatred of each other is epic! Seems like when things are bad they are really bad
