    R.I.P Albert Finney..A fine actor and by all accounts a man who remembered his roots.He declined a C.B.E in 1980 and a Knighthood in 2000 and was quoted as saying "I think the Sir thing slightly perpetuates one of our diseases in England,which is snobbery"!!!.....Sums the man up really.

    My good friend, football teammate and golf partner for many years went to drama school with Albert Finney. Mike told me some wonderful stories of the antics of that talented crop of actors from the 50's and early sixties. Mike occasionally acted as understudy for Albert on stage during tours of theatres in England.
    Mike passed away just over a year ago. He will be missed, as his pal Albert will be too.
    There is quite a resemblance in retrospect.
