You should have shown incredulity with somebody linking an alleged stabbing with politics. It is impossible to search everyone especially so after the do-gooders made it difficult for the police to effectively use stop and search for crime prevention.

I agree, you need to admonish your fellow clique member, completely out of order.

  4. No - you ignore the do gooders and bring in the laws. Bottom line is knife crime is out of control in this country and the government is failing to sort it. I don't really give a **** whether it's a Tory or labour government - my nieces and nephews and your grandchildren are not as safe as they should be. It's an absolute disgrace and needs sorting out. What's happening in France is completely immaterial

Your response is I am sorry to say typical SH. You do not worry that others could suffer because of government policy. As long as you are not going to be affected others are not your concern. Do you ever stop to consider what the effect on your fellow citizens is by the cuts that the party you think is always so wonderful is creating. They are no longer doing what is right, but looking after themselves. Knife crime is out of control, so maybe you would like to suggest why it has got to this state under your government.

Thankfully there appear to be no serious injury and four men arrested. We wait on the corner there and must have walked past the buses with hundreds of others just before the incident. It is really worrying given what happened at Wolves and recent fights at Millwall.. There are families and children right by.... [emoji53]

  7. You and Cologne probably need to send your intended responses by PM to a UK based poster. That way we won't get "but France or Germany etc." Funny how KC never gets the same response about Spain. But yeah - the clique.....

Every police chief will tell you that staffing levels are dangerously low... It is acknowledged across the board except it seems, by Govt.. Just another break down in what used to be Great about Britain..

  9. It amazes me that it's not better controlled there. When I took my niece to the Cardiff game there was a scuffle - I got pushed to the floor despite not being involved - and whilst it was all ok it could easily have got out of control very quickly.

I think we have been fortunate at the Vic in recent years.. But those coaches have always seemed to have no police presence and it is narrow if you walk by on the pavement.. Sad really as I used to live in Liverpool and have always found people from there very friendly..

My reply was measured, with half of what I wrote removed before I posted it. It appals me that others can have no concern for fellow humans, and to simply try to avoid a serious subject by saying that everything is fine here because other places also have problems is the thought process of an uncaring person, or even that of a programmed robot.

  12. Ah mate - it was terrifying. Cardiff fans singing about Watford being a **** hole and a Watford fan decided to remind them of the score. A couple started having a go so I got my niece (who's 12) to get off the pavement and into the road and as she did I got a punch and fell over. Of course I got up and couldn't see her and was bricking it but then she shouted and was only about ten yards away. She was a bit upset on the train but by the time we got back to her parents' house she thought it was the funniest thing ever and her uncle looked an idiot (which is never untrue). Was a wake up call though.

Your politicising an assault without knowing any facts is extremely distasteful. Any discussion about policing is a completely different issue. This fits in with your general whinging about the UK when you choose to live in a country that is falling apart.

I doubt you want to talk about the chap's severed hand during today's yellow vest protest in France.

You really should learn to wait for the facts before spreading politicised misinformation.

You seem to forget that this thread is basically about politics in the UK. While you were still on your way back to your building site there was a news item on the BBC about the spiralling knife crime in the UK. And before your could have arrived back there were also reports coming through about the trouble in Vicarage Road, with initial reports suggesting that a knife could have been used. You have made not a single comment about the reduction in police numbers and the rise in knife crime, but as is normal simply try to divert the subject. Sorry, but you are showing yourself up to not care about others. As your leader once said, we have to move away from being seen as the nasty party. You are not doing your bit to help.

I don't see what any of this has to do with France SH. To be absolutely fair it is wrong to bring politics into it either. The fact is that Everton's football firm called itself the 'County Road Cutters' in the past and has a long association with knife crime, regardless of which government has been in power - they were more 'active' in the past than now but there have been incidents of this sort recently against Millwall, and also absolutely out of the blue against Newcastle and Hull fans. I say 'out of the blue' because they were not playing those clubs at the time - they just happened to all be in London at the same time.

You made the connection between the incident and police numbers which was ridiculous, also incorrectly associating a possible knife crime. To politicise a punch up is a shallow and desperate tactic from your shack in rural France.

Are you trying to say that you disagree with just about every chief constable in England that the reduction of police numbers has nothing to do with an increase in knife crime? Let's not try and change the subject. Do you support the funding reductions for the police?

    No
    No

None of this has anything to do with your faulty opportunistic and embarrassing attempt to politicise a punch up near a football ground.
