No it isn't. It is pattie. Any other spelling is incorrect. I'll give you a fiver for every shop with the incorrect spelling of patty if you will give me a fiver for everyone that spells it pattie. The commentators are talking about automatics for Derby because we’ve been the best side in the league for the last two months... couldnt make it up.
You're just quoting everyday use. There is no codification or standardisation of the word in terms of a pattie/patty in Hull.
I don't know what it is about Derby and delusion. I have a Derby supporting mate and he's constantly talking about them as though they are a PL team. They aren't anywhere near good enough and haven't been for years.

Basically, double up on our wingers and you've stifled us. Coupled with a makeshift defence, we're quite easily beaten by teams with quality forwards in the side. Derby weren't even in second gear today and they beat us, I think that shows how good you need to be to be a playoff contender.
Only saw the last half hour but we looked very ragged, starting at the back. Shows how important a solid back line is.
It's what most reasonable fans expected - best 11 will give most a game, have a few out and it's a whole different kettle of fish.
We stopped playing after 20 minutes, and sat back and played hoofball. No idea why as until then we were causing them problems and forcing lots of mistakes, then we just gave them complete control of the game and pretty much let them win.
“**** me, we’ve played 30 mins. Where the **** did that time go” Rolls his eyes - “It’s counting down Dad” Cocky ****. Highlight of the afternoon.
Irvine should have been man to man with Huddlestone all game. He dominated the game for them as he was allowed to pass the ball around all afternoon. Tactically poor decision. Huddlestone ran the show for Derby and he was allowed to do so for the entire game.
