Pretty sure Southend will go down to 9 men in the second half, possibly even 8. We should be able to finish them off after that, assuming we have a good 20 minutes or so still available to turn the screw...
Fuming with that performance and certain individuals in that team today. Fosu, Marshall & Igor absolute pony
A very disappointing performance today against a dirty 10 man Southend. Bowyer got the tactics all wrong from the start, with six midgets predictably unable to make any impact against the tall Southend side. Fosu and Marshall were woeful throughout, and Vetekole might as well not have been out there. Hackett -Fairchild was also p1ss poor when he came on, twice failing with the really basic skill of getting your body between the ball and the defender. Cullen, Williams & Reeves (Good goal) saw plenty of the ball, but it consistently came straight back at them because they literally had nothing in front of them. Today proved again that without Lyle Taylor our season is over, and another 12 months in this league minimum beckons. We really are a very average side without him.
Chris Powell has certainly produced a dirty, cynical time wasting team there. The keeper & physio were doing it to instruction from the Southend bench, so the halo really slipped today from “SCPs” head. Weegie should keep her bra on.
Sour grapes. Powell never had a halo in the first place according to you. It wasn't possible for him to sink any lower in your estimation anyway. The fact is Bowyer's 11 men could not beat Powell's 10 even with home advantage. There's only one person to blame for that, and it isn't SCP. It's that Belgian clown Duchatelet.
You are right. I have always thought Powell was a crap, negative manager and today he proved it again. Sir Anti-Football
Powell was a poor manager as has been proved bar 1 season , everyone goes on about 9th in the championship but we had a run of wins at the end that disguised how poor we were. I know I will get pelters but even the promotion season , we played really boring football. Powell lovely guy , not a football manager I want anywhere near our club
Enough of that s*** @pulled off at halftime we are now left with three months of nothing games to just try and maintan a play-off position. Ps Bummie, Ivor has gone on the attack now that he has seen the light.
Michael Kightly is still a good player, but the rest of the Southend players you wouldn’t give two bob for. Southend at home when they are down to ten men is the sort of game you must win to have any hope of promotion - yet we never looked remotely like winning that game today. Over the last 6/7 transfer windows we have collected a lot of players with similar traits - small, lightweight, talented on their day, injury prone. Vetekole’s performance as a centre forward today was horrible, and when you augment a lame duck striker with two gadfly wingers with hearts the size of frozen peas ....no wonder we can’t score.
Of course they are bummie, finishing between 3-6 arrives at the same thing. You'll always be licking Dushitelet's 4 pointer.
Nothing to do with RD stop obsessing about him , can’t do anything about him he is not my type anyway
Little or any positives out of that.1-1 at home to a ten man Southend is a fdir reflection of what january did to us. Sounds like Parker may not be a bad signing, given how much he cost. But Vetokele and Fosu? Wow. We should have made Huddersfield take them as part of the Grant deal.
