Ups and downs of football clubs: Liverpool record net profit: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47168032 Bolton winding up petition: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47173241
Bolton's spending during their time in the Premier League was ludicrous. They failed to learn from it and repeated it in the Championship, then suffered in League One.
Makes you think. 142 million for a Liverpool player. Ludicrous. Is there no end to this stupidity? If there was friendship in football,Liverpool could bail their neighbours out by sending some of their youngsters to Bolton on loan for a fee that might help them out. I mean,Spurs would help Arsenal out....wouldn't we......no really (!!!!!!?)
That's funny, because you trying to shout down any justified criticism by calling other fans "bitter" makes you sound exactly like a Manc
No idea why I thought maybe Fulham could get something from this game. They're ****ing useless. How can their defending be this bad? And this is me as an Arsenal fan saying this FFS. Also, Sergio Rico has to be one of the worst goalkeepers I've ever seen. This guy makes more errors than Almunia did for us.
Also, does anyone think Seri could be a contender for flop of the season? Came to the Prem with a big reputation, linked with Arsenal and Chelsea heavily, touted as being the midfielder that Fulham needed to give them bite and aggression in midfield. Fulham invested a lot of money on him, yet he's struggled to make a meaningful impact. If/When Fulham go down, he will probably end up back in France.
You think spending above £0 is taking a risk? Coz that's what we spent Plus Big Poppa Joe spends 90 mill on paintings...I very much doubt we will do a Bolton...they never had the minerals to back the spending. We do...anyway...I'm not too bothered about purchases now that Poch is staying but don't act so paranoid to spending money...we are flirting with top spot for 3 seasons now. Audere Est Facere
Should be one or two interesting responses to this one! He was linked with us as well. I don't think that Fulham have got the best out of their players and Seri's been far from their worst. More of a playmaker than a tackler, though. Tough for anyone to play well going forward in that side, when they know that they're going to concede at least twice a match.
I agree with a lot of this, and I do think he could be a much improved player in a more organised side/with better players around him. But every time I have seen him play, he just hasn't impressed me at all. Whether he's a box-to-box player, deep-lying playmaker or defensive mid, it speaks volume that no-one really seems to know what his position is. I understand he had no control over his price tag, but Fulham invested a lot for one of Europe's most sought after players and he hasn't delivered. Rightly or wrongly, he will be judged on that.
€10m? Not that much, though it's disputed due to the nature of the double transfer and sell on clauses. I think that he's had problems in their system, which often hasn't made much sense. Had a few good games early on and looked bright, but then dropped off as the season's gone on and morale has dipped. He'll probably get bargain hunted in the summer as a squad player, assuming that they go down.
No, we HAVE BEEN in the top 3 for the past three seasons (3rd, 2nd, 3rd), it is Liverpool who are "flirting" with the top 3 (8th, 4th, 4th).
Telegraph reported it was a club-record £25m. I guess we'll see what happens, but I'm not sure how many top PL clubs will be in for him. I genuinely think he'll end up back in France or maybe Italy where the pace of the game is a lot slower.
It was £25m for him and Le Marchand together. The split is disputed, as Nice had sell-on clauses to pay for Seri.
