Always lived in plumstead woolwich spart from 10 to 18 when I lived in Thamesmead. Loads of ****ty bits but lots of nice bits too. House prices have gone mental round here cos of the DLR and Crossrail ... ****ing 3 bedroom houses in woolwich and plumstead going for 400k And renting is extortionate. When I bought in the 90s a 3 bedroom, with 3 down stairs rooms and a garden cost 50k...****ing madness now...my kids won't be able to afford to live in ****ing woolwich ffs
I go back to Plumstead every year as my mother in law lives there. Yet to see any parts of Woolwich that I'd describe as posh, but yeah I get you. The whole of that area is slowly being gentrified. Even Deptford which was the ****ing hell hole of that part of London is now going the trendy hipster route. For the better really tbh given the absolute squalor of the old sink estates along the river.
I know its mental. Crappy 3 beds near centre of town for 400k. Those gentrified 2 beds on the arsenal new build for 600+ . Its hardly that posh to warrant those prices

Where in London are you living Bobby ? I remember looking at an estate agents window a few years ago when I was back in Lewisham, they were advertising a 3 bed 10th floor flat on the Pepys Estate for £325k. All the usual estate agent patter was there, 'commanding views of the river and city' etc. I used to do a paper round on that estate when I was a lad and people used to fight tooth and nail to move out of those places.

Where I am, you have to be 2 years older than the girl for it to be an offense. So a 16 y/o sleeping with a 15 y/o isn't a predatory sex crime but a 17 y/o sleeping with a 15 y/o could be.
Yep posted that last comment before I saw your one about the Royal Arsenal development. I haven't been down to the River in that part for well over 15 years now, so I'm a bit out of touch with it all. I used to have to get the Woolwich Ferry to college when I was living there. I remember seeing the Cat A prisoners being transferred from Belmarsh up to the Crown Courts in police convoys through Woolwich. Police outriders, cop cars then a prison wagon being tailed by more police outriders. Was like being in a movie set.
I've often wondered about a staggered limit here, eg the age of consent is 16 for those aged 16-19 but to make it 18 once a person reaches 20.
It damn right oughta be. Actually what bothers me... If I get drunk and smash a window I can be arrested for vandalism. I'm responsible for what I do. If I get drunk and a woman has sex with me... No offence done. BUT if I as a man were to have consenual sex with a woman, or alligator, who had been drinking... It's rape. Why are men responsible for what they do when drunk but women aren't? I can understand assaults where a man deliberately gets a woman drunk to prey on her... That should be illegal. But if I'm out drinking with a girl and we're both drinking... Why would it be potentially considered rape if we had sex? Seems double standards.

Nothing personal Bru...I just think my kids teachers should stick to teaching them Maths n English. Most teachers are younger than me I'm finding...therefore I think I can teach my kids more about the world plus when I teach my children I teach them about sensitive subjects from a perspective through which I see life...I might take certain things into consideration that a teacher won't. I also understand not all kids get much parenting...maybe teachers need to ask the parent/guardian before taking education to a personal level. You do a great job mate taking the **** you do.
Most 27 year olds are still far too juvenile and don't have proper relationship skills. If you're talking about just randomly hooking up...as long as they are legal, do whatever floats your boat. Very few 27 yo would be mature enough to be worth dating. They're all selfies, social media, and Instagram photos at that age.
