I'm old enough to remember when the writer of Saturday Night , Sunday Morning was an angry young man.
R.I.P Albert Finney..A fine actor and by all accounts a man who remembered his roots. He declined a C.B.E in 1980 and a Knighthood in 2000 and was quoted as saying "I think the Sir thing slightly perpetuates one of our diseases in England, which is snobbery"!!!.....Sums the man up really.
Old bloke I used to work with used to quote this all the time. All I'm out for is a good time - all the rest is propaganda.” RIP
The Wally Mays who had Tower and I think the roller disco I’m not actually sure if there the same person to be honest? Dave’s Dad though (ex Welly, Fruit, Polar Bear, Blue Lamp)
Remember it being rated an X. I was over 18 but mum said it really wasn't a film I should see. I went though. RIP

My good friend, football teammate and golf partner for many years went to drama school with Albert Finney. Mike told me some wonderful stories of the antics of that talented crop of actors from the 50's and early sixties. Mike occasionally acted as understudy for Albert on stage during tours of theatres in England. Mike passed away just over a year ago. He will be missed, as his pal Albert will be too. There is quite a resemblance in retrospect. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image He's here with his actress/movie director daughter Sarah Polley in the above 2 pictures. RIP Mr Finney and Michael Polley.
