He needs to do it for more than just 5 games. Hope he does but people saying its because "he hasnt had a regular run in the side" should probably ask themselves: "why has he never had a regular run in the side?" Under multiple managers. Hope he proves me wrong, under Ralph it is early days but a case of so far so good!
Good point - I think now though that we have a manager that can spot a dick (this doesn`t sound right!) a mile off, so that shouldn`t be an issue now.
The last Manager that gave him a regular run was Puel and he played well enough to get selected for England. Under Poch and Koeman he was in his late teens, early 20s. Pellegrino and Hughes preferred to select players with a bigger reputation and took less chances. Ralph clearly rates him and he's the man that really matters.... https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/02/07/ralph-hasenhtll-raves-about-southampton-ace-james-ward-prowse/
Apologies for the mini-rant but i’m just sick of our own fans slating him. Of all our players he is the one that has never stopped trying, always looked committed to the cause. Technically very good, scores goals. Is he iniesta? No. Is he wanyama? No. But he is a solid premier league player, that is one of our own. There have been many issues with our squad the last few years, JWP is nowhere near one of them, yet I see him get more stick than most other players.
Nah thats fine! We just disagree, nothing wrong with that. I do share your thoughts that he has never stopped trying and whilst i dont really rate him, i really like him. Its strange that you say he gets stick because ive omly ever seen people sing his praises. A couple moan (me) on here but i thought generally saints fans rated him
You are making a bit of an assumption about the reasons why some fans may rate him if you don't mind me saying, Magic.

For as long as I can remember we've been going to give a team a right good stuffing could this be the one? Oh by the way have you got a brother called Silence of the Lambo?
For me over-positivity is far easier to take than constant moaning I'll never stop loving Davo and Shaney
I don’t want to sound hard-hearted or anything, but wasn’t there a minutes silence last week for Sala? I know they’ve now found the body (RIP - terrible tragedy) but isn't it time to move on now? I feel this gives the Cardiff players an extra boost to play better and gets into the heads of our players. I swear that’s why they managed to beat Bournemouth. Maybe I’m just too much of a saints fan, but how many Cardiff players actually met or spoke to him? He never actually played for the club, so I think it’s being milked a bit too much.
