Link Pretty much the same circumstances. City didn't have an injured first team, they had a demoralised one. Middlesbrough were 4 places below them. Actually, that makes it worse. The reason no-one remembers it is because it doesn't sound as good. 8-2 can be used in the middle of a sentence, 8-1 can't.
Rather Utd win the league than Man City, they are fast becoming a team you want to fail. Lots of obnoxious band wagon jumping supported starting to clamber on also..
The only good reason for City is that it makes any rivalries that 'Pool fans believe they have with United now almost entirely redundant, as neither of them are ever going to win the league title again. See. The reasons for City aren't all bad
We did make a shed load of cash off them also, guts of 40 mill for Toure and Ade! That's what I call shafting someone... 24m for Nasri with 1 year left, would not complain if it was going into my pocket.. Still getting a little big for their boots all the same..
Sure but its not like that money gets re-invested.. and i would happily take all those players back now. We need them lets be honest. 8-2?...shudder.
that game was at the end of the season with nothing to play for, completely different, nowhere near as humiliating. Their players wanted to lose the game out of standing up to the directors.
SamuraisShadow I have yet to meet a City fan that has poked fun about that defeat. You must be living in cloud cuckoo land if you belive that load of rubbish. Because most of the City fans I know always want the rags to lose. However for that stupid posting. I don't care 2 hoots what Arsenal do this season all I hope is that we give Arsenal an even bigger hiding when we play your lot this season both home and away.
I was just about to say, that 8-1 at Boro was probably the biggest pasting I've seen in a while. It could and should have been double figures and was with a full strength City team as well. I think City refunded the fans If memory serves me well
City look good this season but wouldn't any club that has unlimited spending power expect to improve dramatically in this situation. @The bear, i get your drift on re-investment but Toure and Ade were massively overpriced, who in their right mind would want either of them back after what has happened both of them. Fab is a special case and Nasri followed the cash, we had little choice but to accept the bid. The wages being offered now are way out of line at City and we clearly cannot compete and won't on that score with them. We can compete with most other top clubs in general on wages.
Didn't City have Richard Dunne sent off after 10 minutes? You know, centre-half and captain Richard Dunne?
Man City are a disgrace. 700mil spent and they park the bus at the emirates. Mancini is such a **** manager that I reckon we can finish above City. They'll fade away soon enough
