Well the answer to that is actually NO (statistically it's 12). In the league, Ings played 11 out of 16 games under Hughes and scored 3 times. Under Ralph he has played 7 out of 9 games and scored 3 times. You should be much more worried if Redmond or JWP are injured!
Mark hughes isnt our manager so ignore that, we are a different team now. Under Hassenhuttl he has 3 goals in 7 games: 0.43 goals per game. Which over a 38 game season equates to 16 goals. So the answer, statistically speaking of course, is yes he would indeed Not to mention the fact the disruption caused by missing games wont help matters.
I've only been to St Marys twice in 50 years. The first time was this game. Deliberately chose it's a it seemed a nailed on home win. When I told the guy next to me that it was my first visit to a home game in 50 years, he invited me to f**k off for another 50 years. Harsh! No game is nailed on for Saints.
Oh look Lawro has realised we are unbeaten in 2019 now after saying that was the reason Burnley were going to beat us last time out. To be fair to him, this is one of his more reasoned predictions. Cardiff bad away from home + Saints home form not great but improving = Saints narrow win. Oh I do hope he's right.
Sorry saints fans, sounds like Stephens and Targett will continue to play. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/17417412.southampton-boss-ralph-hasenhuttl-discusses-maya-yoshida/
Much as I love Maya I thought it was unlikely he would walk straight back into the team...Ralph is all about the system and the players understanding it. Maya is not a VVD who would be tough to leave out. He has to work his way back in....this break in Tenerife has come at the right time for Yoshi.
I do hope they do. I do worry about certain sections of our crowd gething on their back - started to creep in at the palace game for Stephens in particular.
Having seen their great success with Forster, some fans want to continue with the 'abusing players improves performance' experiment.
Let's not forget Redmond suffered a huge confidence dent last season as well, he's even admitted it got to him. When will our fans learn? It's all part of the 'Scapegoat' project.
