I see footage of JLL. young Elvis, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, and I see the energy, the existing rule book being ripped up, the charisma etc

With BH i just see/hear music which reminds me of Hank Marvin and the Shadows.

Other acts I don't get: U2, AC/DC, Queen and Hendrix.

Soz and all that, but there.....I said it.

I'm with you TC. Buddy Holly will always be the one I loved the most. And the only singer I can remember exactly where I was the moment I heard the news of his death. It was truly "The Day the Music Died". RIP Buddy !!!!

Btw..Richie Valens "Oh Donna" always brought a tear to my eye too. A very sad day.

Am I mistaken TC, is that one of the Everleys in the top inset? Or maybe I'm missing something here.

I believe it is. There was a documentary on the other night about Buddy Holly. He was friends with the Everleys, it was them who got him to change the suits he wore and to change his glasses to the famòus horn rimmed ones.

Seen it before, but re-watched the BBC 4 B.H. documentary again tonight.

Holly was a game changer. As the likes of Robert Wyatt, Bob Harris, Paul Anka & innumerable others explained, his versatility & inventiveness influenced so many future musicians, many of whom became superstars.

Prolific in such a short period. Makes you wonder what might have been.

Damn Jimmy Page and his guitar playing, even when he's totally off his head, mind you much like Robert Plant in this clip it seems.
