I can see most of our loaners being back at SMS in June ready for preseason training instead of being snapped up by their existing clubs
Sadly true, and the loan fees are unlikely to cover the depreciation in their value. Cedric is likely to be a prime example.
St Mary’s is going to resemble the Sports Direct sale room this summer, knockdown prices, buy one get one free, three for the price of two etc
https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/1...ns-replace-mark-hughes-with-ralph-hasenhuttl/ Fans replacing Hughes face with Ralph's on the Saints' Calendar. I have long advocated that Saints should issue blank calendars and then supply the purchasers with stickers that can be added when it is certain a player will still be there
Unless Hesketh preferred the change, I get what Clough is saying. Surely he would have been better off playing at the higher level.
I thought exactly the same. Wasn't there talk of him stepping up a division in December, or did I imagine that?
If you read the comments below the article (I know they might not be gospel) the issue is Hesketh wasn’t getting match time in his preferred position (and the one Saints prefer him in) which I believe is AM.
Hesketh looked like being the next one to break through...a few years ago. Injuries have hampered his development and breakthrough. Would have hoped he was above league 2 standard by this stage.
The club seem to be being a little tougher these days on players. It seems they are tightening their belts one way or tother.
http://sportwitness.co.uk/southampton-loanee-set-sent-back-buying-option-already-not-considered/ Suggestion that Inter Milan have already decided not to sign Cedric..having taken him on a loan only as a short term fix. Probably be easier to get a move for him in the summer anyway.
