Just been reading the BBC Sports feed whilst eating my lunch at my desk - came across the story of Bayern Munich's German cup victory over Hertha Berlin last night. Serge Gnabry, former Gooner, scored twice in their 3-2 win - an example of 'one that got away' ?? or was he really not all that whilst with the Goons? Got me thinking about players that we have had and of whom I was hoping for big things - Adrien Silva is the most recent example - but I wouldn't count him as a 'one that got away'. But this boy I would - an excellent technical player, great finisher, but someone who just didn't fit into Claudio Ranieri's title winning strategy at the time - Andrej Kramaric Would love to have him at the club now, as I think he would suit the team we have now got and the less franetic build-up play - plus it would mean we could bin that useless plum, Iheanacho So over to you lads - have you got your own "One That Got Away" .someone who didn't quite make it with you but you would love to have back at your club now?
... and you win the prize for most predictable response ... and there was no crying on my part mate ... fair few comparable beauties followed that one ... won't be posting pics mind as it seems to upset some people
No ... but I could have if I'd been that way inclined ... did you manage more than 3 back-to-back ****s over Le Tiss? ... probably not
Probably Paulinho. Came with an exciting rep, got MOTM on his debut for us and had a good first month or so but then AVB sank his claws in and ruined the guy, by the time Poch came in he was finished. Had Poch signed him, Barca would’ve probably bought him from us and not Guangzhou.
The sacking of Harry Redknapp was possibly the worst mistake the board at West Ham ever made, that decision cost us Frank Lampard, Joe Cole, Micheal Carrick & Defoe and we got Gary Breen as a replacement (on a free). It's taken us nearly 2 decades to recover.
Mikel San Jose turned out to be a cracking player we let him go way to easily. Same with Suso who's now at Milan.
Luv has been rattled ever since the potential 7 point lead got whittled down to zero in the space of a week
