the reality that nobody wants to hear but will have to face is a) title should have been over at eithiad. 7 point lead. b) title was over at 40mins gone v Leicester. 7 points clear.. could be 10 if we draw at eithiad. we are now 3 points clear. we need to win all remaining games as an assumptions up until if/when city drop points. I expect to be about 3 points off city at best going into last 5 games... 4 points dropped means imo we ****ed it already. massive effort needed to bring this title home. players like firmino don't mean to stink up the place but when they do they need to up the effort levels and run themselves into the ground to try rectify.
It is all well having supercomputers making predictions but how do they factor in: increase in fatigue, nerves, and sudden loss of defensive confidence? The way we defended the West ham free kicks was a horror show. We have to beat the mancs at OT because I think City will destroy them there. You were right that they will go into our game needing to beat us to be 4th. Unlike Mourinho who would have played a cautious game, we would probably face a mancs team that will go for all out attack after having been undefeated so far under Solskjaer.
They don't cos they don't have super computers. they just rated each team, probably gave a range and played off each game on ratings. say west ham roll a 10/10 and off roll a 9/16 then west ham get 3 points. repeat 10000 times to get a non scientific big sounding number. publish results.
btw. Chelsea Utd spurs those are 9 points that are huge for both clubs. 2 Are at home for both sides. utd away. we really needed the 4 dropped points to cover those games.
I think (and I hope I'm wrong here) that City will dispatch Spurs, Chelsea and even Utd. Unfortunately I can see them ending with 9 points. We'll beat Spurs but Chelsea could give us some trouble. We'll just have to find a way to get 3 points at the mancs. We could well be level after these matches.
Utd away should not be underestimated, we all saw how they only hung on in the end v spurs. But a new utd is developing and it will attack city... and attacking city is the only way to live with them. Spurs will be a tough one for city too. Its going to be the "odd goal" between the sides I agree that Chelsea are going to be hammered by city most likely. For me..... we just need to cling on as much as we can and hope city fall apart at the CL times. Unfortunately for me, its going to be us that again has to prioritise and i cn see the CL just ending our title race.
Honestly, I really don't give us much hope now. We're going to lose at least one more game this season but I can't say the same for City. All we can hope for is City screwing up.
If they are going to, do not expect Everton to help. Everton messed up last time we are chasing the league with city.
Everton seem to get a result when least expected. Let's hope that this is the case this evening. A draw won't be of any good for either team but will be a fantastic result for us.
Meh. Last time they rolled over and even the Everton fans were cheering for City to beat their own team. I wouldn't be surprised if Tobes is cheering for City again in that message.
Clearly remember that Ross Barkley scored a spectacular goal. Had city lost that game we should have won the league.
No one fancied Newcastle coming away with anything v Citeh. There's a fair bit of media attention on Everton's situation at the moment, that can sometimes provoke a reaction. If they can get up for a game against us then they can do the same tonight.
Chelsea will fight for a win as they need to stay in 4th. But City against a big team at the Etihad are formidable.
2 people predicted 95 points to win the league. Liverpool winning all their games can get 97 points while Manchester winning all their can get 98 points. It is either 98 points or 97 points or less?
