Well that was jolly good. Felt in control throughout, first goal from a corner, headed down by Smith and lynch tried everything not to score, but Wells put it in... Second from a Freeman free kick, straight onto Smith's head, straight into the net... Furlong hit bar early on ...Wells was stopped from scoring by a world class last ditch tackle..... Smith had a great game as did Luongo, Furlong, Wells, Freeman and Hall. I thought Scowen played well too....he certainly got the ball when he was carded, he took player too...so not certain about whether it was even though Pompey were calling for his head . Will have to go up a gear against Watford to get anything....but who cares...last 16 for first time in 22 years. Bring it on Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
A very comfortable win with little threat from Portsmouth. If it had been a boxing match, the ref would have stopped it at half time. We were all over them for the first half and I was worried that we'd go behind as we often seem to when we start well. Pleased to say that we came out of the blocks briskly in the second half. I had just messaged my lads to say that I thought one goal was going to settle it when we scored. After that I never saw Portsmouth threaten much at all. They were never coming back from 2 nil down. Credit to their fans for being in good voice until the goals silenced them. Catching snippets of grumpy Portsmouth conversation on the walk to the car. Satisfying! Bit odd about the policing. Loads before the game and they had all gone at the end when violence more likely. Is that some sort of 'keep it low key' policy that keeps aggression down?? Well done The Rssss.
A comfortable win in the end, without really totally dominating. Nothing to do for Lumley. Luongo MOM for me, he really showed tonight what we had been missing.
QPR have won two FA Cup games this season, as many as they had managed in their previous 26 games in the competition (D7 L17). About time we're addressing our abysmal cup stats. Hopefully it's a change of focus and attitude, because what is the point of supporting a club when two out of three competitions gets discarded year on year? U R'S!
A good win and think some class from our team made the difference. Good to see Hemed back on the pitch even for the last 4minutes. Thought Luongo looked fresh and hungry. Credit to their fans for their noise.
Tickets for season ticket holders and members go on sale on Friday. I’ve just bought a membership for a tenner
On your comment about Lynch. The Commentators on the Officials commentary thought he had scored initially and then could only confirm we had scored. I think Sinton was saying he still thought Lynch had scored after watching the replays a few times. Having not seen it at all I'm just very happy it went in.
Nice to see both strikers scoring. This is a tie that could've easily gone tits up, so well done to Steve and the boys for putting to bed another unwanted cup milestone. Not reaching the fifth round for twenty two years is quite simply preposterous. The last time we reached this stage of the tournament ( 1997 ) we were beaten away to Wimbledon 2-1 who were then playing at Selhurst Park. Mark Hately scored first for the R's on 41 minutes, with Marcus Gayle equalising soon after before Robbie Earle scored the winner on 55 minutes. QPR took 12,000 fans to that match filling almost half of the ground.
If we play with this determination and attitude, we could be a handful for many teams. But we need the consistency of performance. But even with this form, Watford at home will be a great reality check of where we are. Watford will be hot favourites for the match.
Great to have the win. Just looking at the draw, l think we should p!ss it in and at least make the final.
I’m told they made a lot of changes in the previous rounds so I’m hopeful we catch them on an off day, it pisses down and we can just keep chucking balls in the box. We’ll probably get gubbed but I can dream. If we win I’m not sure my liver will cope.
