......and wheels on the bus blah blah....... But, we are in a fight, & this Saturday will be a major gauge of how it's going. Maybe I'll be really excited towards the end of the week as I'm not usually this pessimistic so early on!
Not sure why people are worried. This will be a stroll in the park. Game over after 20 minutes no real tension and a real party atmosphere.
Over the coming week I expect to veer several times between “Cardiff? We’ll piss that lot”, to “we’re going down with no money in the bank”, covering all points in between. For what it’s worth, I really don’t think we’ll lose. Not over confident of the win either, but on balance it is the most likely outcome.
Really appreciate what Ralph has done, the upturn has been fantastic. But, I've got this little niggle telling me things are not good. We can't keep seeing Ings break down after playing two games, we can't keep shuffling the defence without causing side effects. Our options are severely limited at the moment, and there may well be worse to come. I'm not even going to say what I mean by that, as fate is the only religious thing about me. Be glad when Saturday is over, and hopefully you lot will be calling me nervous nelly for the remaining games in glee, because I was so wrong.
This is Saints don’t forget. Just as likely to draw against Cardiff and Fulham but record good victories against Arsenal and Spuds.
You may have a point and I hope you are correct in your implication. However that decision making has been a calculated risk in no incoming players in Jan and it could work out that we go down. If that happens, and we will know in May, it would suggest the decision making wasn’t quite so clever.
I don't understand how people will think this will be a walk over. Cardiff will be well up for this after getting a good win against Bournemouth. They'll be able to smell blood, afterall no matter how well we think we've been doing we are still only 2 points above them. And even in the games that we dominate i.e. Everton at home, we still were holding on for dear life at the end and won by just a single goal. Saints don't do easy. If we are to win this game, we'll win it the hard way.
Nobody will be proved right or wrong until the whole act has been played out and what anyone says on here will have zero effect on any of it. My own personal view is that we are now (with Ralph) the best team out of the seven clubs fighting against the 18th and 19th positions and I think that we will finish 13th or possibly higher.
I don't think that we are brilliant yet, but I think that we are better than most of the bottom half.
