Do you have any other tips? I went to a course on presentation skills to try and help me get over it. After seven hours i was told the way to stop feeling nervous was to 'just stop feeling nervous'.

Thanks for that.

Did you ask him then how to stop feeling nervous....<laugh>

Don't single out one person in the room and remain focussed on them to allay your fears because you will look like a serial killer.

For the nerves I just have a glass of water nearby, keep moving eyes around the room, move hands so that people will follow your movements and not stare at you and if you begin to stumble over words; sip water.

When I have had to do presentations, just before I start to talk I take a few seconds to look at the audience and I imagine them on the crapper. They don't seem too intimidating after that.

When I was a kid I used to be scared of overly large dandelions (no idea where that came from), once my sister found a masisve one and scared the crap out of me with it. I also used to have some gerbils as a pet when I was younger and I got scared to touch or hold them because they were quite bitey and in the end one ate another one because I had not fed it enough, I still feel terrible for that.

Does anyone else hate pigeons? I ****ing hate them, I always think they are going to fly up into my face.

Doesn't work. You have every right to be terrified. Just think, when you are up there, they are looking at you, not listening to what you are saying but looking at every single detail on your body. You'll be fine if you think like that.

Yeah, I hate pigeons too. Not scared of them but they piss me off, those little 3 year olds that run into them and make them fly in my face when I'm minding my own business having a sandwich on a bench somewhere can piss off too, theyre even worse than the pigeons.

As I used to be a strippergram, they are welcome to have a good look..............................whilst in my head they need to wipe their arses!!

I also don't like the thought of ever having bad teeth. Working in betting shops, I often see people who have less of a collection of teeth but more like a mouthful of broken crockery. With cat **** on it. I'd hate for my teeth to ever look like that.

I honestly don't have any irrational fears, I'm always the mug who has to catch the spider or the moth or the daddy long legs, I love flying, I love tall buildings etc etc BUT I hate the thought of having ****ed teeth!!! Poor dental hygiene makes me wince, I know a few people who have a mouth like Beirut and it's ****ing sick, there's no need.

Anyone else always wanted to **** on a pigeon?

I don't have a fear of pigeons but I hate them with a passion. Went for an interview and whilst I was standing outside the office preparing in my mind a pigeon shat all over the back of my suit and I didn't notice until I was sitting in the interview.

I also detest seagulls because when we lived on the coast, they'd rip bin bags open and I'd have to clear the rubbish up.

I was berated by the police once for kicking a seagull in the head whilst trying to sweep up the litter it had left outside the front of my house.

Police always back the wrong one don't they.

I know a lass who is scared of sharks. Now theres nowt unusual about that, after all i think we are all a bit wary of a hooge fish with massive teeth and a bad attitude.

She took it to the extreme tho, she couldnt see one on tv, she couldnt see a picture of one without getting upset.

To try the theory out I drew a shark on the beermat under her drink when she went to the bog. She was genuinely bothered by it and her lad had to remove the offending scribble!
