No to the batteries ... but she will sit, give you her paw (left or right), lie down, roll over and 'cwtch' (welsh for cuddle) if you ask her to ... she won't bite anybody's ankles - very friendly - the only problem with her is that she is not keen on other dogs ... gets especially protective if she's with my kids ... something to do with the breed, I read
