I didn't use the album as avatar because you already had it. I have the LP and the CD dedicated by Arthur Lee. IMHO the best record in history by far.
Sorry about that. I love it that in an early morning motion in Parliament in 2003 that it was voted the greatest LP ever.Arthur was there. I'm almost ill when I get people to listen to it and they say it's OK, bit like the Moody Blues.Errrghhh! I hope you got to see him with the Orchestra in 2002.
Absolutely ridiculous..talk about pandering to those people that keep on about cruelty in the sport. What next? Remove some fences completely?Reduce them to half their current size? They should hold strong against some of these groups...but I guess I m not overly surprised. Look at the grand national now...not quite the spectacle and unique challenge it once was...you can bunny hop some of those fences now.
I’m sure they have their reasons but it’s strange that the meet ends every day, now, with a race that doesn’t see the fully fledged professional jockeys race over obstacles! Shall I go on conspiracy theory-ist and ask is there a reason for this?!? Most bizarre if you ask me. And unless you have an old fave or a major fancy running in the new concluding contest of The Festival you do have to conclude the whole thing ends somewhat insipidly. Admittedly, the ‘Grand Annual’ wasn’t the ‘Grand National’ but it was a decent contest in its own right and probably one of the most looked forward to handicaps of the entire meeting. I wonder on how many days racegoers will look to make an early exit this time around?!?
It’s so they can get in the pub early. I think it was last year we got back to the pub and touchy-feely was already at the bar.
Added my fourth ante post bet today with Uradel 20s Ew in the Coral Cup.Owner and trainer won the same race last year and he was given a 'nice spin' at the weekend at Ltown.I know the owner likes a decent punt so I would expect him to go off at single figures if he makes it on the day.
Yes, it is very curious that he had that recognition in the British Parliament being Love an American band. But well ... You know Jim Morrison said that his only aspiration in music was that The Doors were as good as Love, in fact it was Arthur who recommended him to Jac Holzman to sign him, and not once but twice, because the first time Holzman went to see the Doors they seemed terrible to him and Arthur had to insist that he sees them again. Please, hahahahahaha ... The Moddy Blues. It's not to get sick is to die laughing. I saw him in 2002 and in 2004 but unfortunately to Spain he came without orchestra.
Saw them '74 (London) and '75 (Birmingham) then '02 and '03. I never recommend it to anyone now. Americans have never heard of them, still Buddy Holly only had one number 1 in USA so they're no judges.
Mmmmmm ... '74 and '75, dark years. Sorry for the Off Topic to the other members of the forum but have you bought this? https://www.rhino.com/product/forever-changes-50th-anniversary-edition I don't know what to do, I have the record twice on vinyl and three on CD. You know that there is nothing new, among other things because they did not record any more in the sessions of the album, but I'm tempted by the booklet.
Ladbrokes and Coral go a stand-out 12/1 about Martin Brassil's City Island for the Ballymore Novices Hurdle. Lots to like about this one, including the fact he is only entered for the one race at the festival. He showed his well-being by dotting up at Naas on Saturday and is now 3/3 over hurdles after winning one of the big maidens at the Galway festival and following up on Boxing Day at Leopardstown. If he were trained by Mullins or Elliot he would surely be pushing Champ for favouritism. He has only been beaten once under rules, on his bumper debut by Mullins Passageway (who seems to have completely disappeared). I have no idea whether he might be shorter on the day or not (I guess it depends who else shows up) but it is a slow day today so I thought this worth posting.
I see old boy Paddy Power is betting on ‘Will the Cheltenham Festival start on the 12th March?’ It is currently - 1/10 Yes, 5/1 No.
Should be no problem with Cheltenham ......................... those trying to sort out Brexit are thankfully not involved
Decent column in todays racing post on festivel fancies/targets etc.Gordy sounded confident of making it a hatrick in the Martin Pipe hurdle with Dallas Des Pictons, already gone into 8/1 fav. Nicholls sounded upbeat about his runners but in fairness he is like that every year.
