What can one say this guy is class.

The best centre half since Gary Collier

The guy is complete and utter class.<applause><applause><applause>

    Who needs Aden Flint :emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl:emoticon-0136-giggl

I would say him and Kalas are the best central partnership in the division.

He is playing and did yesterday. Boro score the least and concede the least in the top ten. As expected from Mr Pulis.

Bristol City obviously needed something. Kalas was Flints replacement.

Not according to Lee Johnson interview he said he would only let Flint go if Webster was brought in,this was sorted prior to Flint leaving.

Not exactly. I said he was the type I would hope that would be brought in alongside Flint as his ability would also compliment Bryan where Flint with all respects did less so. Webster has the ability to reset, retain, release possession and repeat that other squad members did not. He also has range of pass.

And within weeks Kalas was brought in due to City getting done aerially. No coincidence.

Or was it Baker was a sick note and Bailey Wright long term injury maybe?

And Kelly and Webster were considered not a strong enough pairing. In came Kalas.

Webster replaced Flint, LJ said exactly that in his interview Sat on RB . Kalas was bought in because he’s class , better than both Baker and Wright, both of which are also sick notes at times , Kelly is still learning and not yet up to consistently playing to a high enough standard, his levels will fluctuate, he surely will learn loads from playing alongside players of the calibre of Kalas & Webster.

Like I said in another thread our calibre of recruitment in the summer was immense. Well done all concerned.

That may have been the supposed intent but clearly more was needed and this is from somebody who said City could/should sign Webster last season. One v one duels in the air its no surprise to see Webster was not quite the standard of Flint, no surprise to see Kalas brought in because he is better than Baker, Kelly, Wright and Webster at winning first balls and then in possession certainly better than Baker and Wright.

Webster is an entirely differing proposition to Flint. Oddly I got coated off on here for suggesting that City could use players like that in the manner he is starting to reveal, its not Barcelona, we are not Man City yada yada … Yes championship centre backs at Bristol City really can be used to play out and this possession based football could be progressed further.

Its going to be interesting to see where this goes because obviously Kalas and Da Silva are not City's players. I have doubts watching Kelly in the XI and in U teams he will claim a spot at full back.
