We are a better team than Cardiff, yet we find ourselves going into this game just two points ahead of them. We are a couple injuries away from crisis, and yet people still seem to be annoyed at negativity! I'm somewhere between scared & very concerned. I predict a meltdown next week, after we dominate possession and not win.
Even Huddersfield scored against us. Really hope Hojbjerg is back for this, we'll need his captaincy, energy and drive to set the tone.
Just looked at all our fixtures...the two against Cardiff and Fulham are 'must wins' for the sake of our nerves as we have some toughies coming up. We won the wrong games....if you see what I mean...need to put a bit of distance between us and 3 teams below us. The good thing of course is that we can now get unexpected results, so it is no longer hopeless to wish for a win against Spurs for instance, but let's do it the easy way, Saints.....please. Don't want any last day excitement against an already relegated Huddersfield having nothing to lose.
They were must-wins in the away matches and we made a mess of them Hopefully at home we can do the job
Yer tiz! Saturday 9th February 2019 15:00 KO Southampton v Cardiff Referee: Martin Atkinson Assistants: Stephen Child, Harry Lennard Fourth official: Tim Robinson
We are only 2 points above them because Ralph didn't arrive til December, with his average points per game, we'd be top 7 or 8 if he'd been here at the start of the season. In Ralph we trust.
its a big game but then if we cant defeat Cardiff at home then we are where we are its often the case that teams down that bottom start seeing improving results as the mid table teams drop more points / become complacent as we are seeing considering how bad our start was - to be where we are is pretty good.

is it still ralphampton if we lose ? only i've iust registered the new city name with ordnance survey
Just bought tickets for me and my son...making our way from Newport for his first visit to St Mary's (my inlays are Cardiff season ticket holders, so I need to sway him back to the red and white side!)
