Must admit he was crazy was pontus on Saturday plus in front of us he tapped the ball down twice with his hand. Back to the referee and linesman unsighted or behind play. Very lucky and he needs a good talking to.
The best right back at the club has been out injured hence Shaks coming in. Bryce Hossanah has been back playing for the U23s for the last month and seems to be getting his mojo back. Maybe WJ could give us his view of young Bryce? He is a right back and bombs forward linking play. Remember folks it's this kid who made Bielsa decide he didn't need Lewie Coyle back
Thats the thing though we just cant get them fit when needed its the story of the season. Been looking at number of games left and points avaliable. So 16 to go so lets discard 1 game. Leaves us averaging 2 points a game for last third of season to achieve 87 points. This will be enough for autos i think. So thats 9 wins and 3 draws losing 3=15 games plus a bonus game to spare. Could 90 points be enough to win the league?.
Unlike some, i think foreshaw is a good footballer... but i agree, that Phillips does the defensive part of the auxiliary cb better. Although Kalvin has Given the ball away like foreshaw has a few times but largely got away with... Though has cost a few goals and a sending off himself. Ayling looks way out of form, and i like shackleton... but rather like Pearce, i think bielsa worries about the defensive attributes... which is very forgivable for Shackleton as its not his position. I like Jansson, he’s a commanding presence, not bad on the ball makes some vital interceptions. There’s a but coming. 2 headed goals from forest are largely on him, stoke, miscontrolled then got sent off, Norwich miscontrolled and then stupid foul. That’s 3 goals and a sending off on his ledger in the last month. Needs to buck his ideas up, as do the rest of the keystone cops defenders.
Forshaw can't defend, looks better against teams who don't create much, not up to Philips standard defending.
Davey, next time you get Wakey a ticket, get it in the away end for him,see if he can jinks them fookers.
Oh crap. This got me thinking, so I decided to have a look. Games I have attended/bought tickets for since the start of last season: Birmingham City Lost 0-2 Sheffield United Lost 1-2 Milwall Lost 3-4 Can you see where I'm going with this yet? Sheffield Weds Lost 1-2 Birmingham City Lost 1-2 Norwich City Lost 1-3 Of the 6 games, my flights have been cancelled 4 times, though I got in via Manchester twice - I reckon somebody was trying to tell me something. In the circumstances, and the glittering company, sparkling wit and excellent music in the Duck & Drake notwithstanding, I have decided not to sally forth again this season until and unless promotion has been secured. Honest.
When he's on his game, his strength is breaking up play, MOM against Derby. Bit like Batty, except Batty was more consistent (yeah, and better at it), plus Batty had McAllister, Strachan and Speed to give it to to do the creative thing, we only have Pablo now. Phillips is more reliable and disciplined IMO, but Bielsa was probably making a point about not getting yourself needlessly banned for 3 games at a time by leaving him out on Saturday.
I think Douglas as lost a yard of pace since the start of the season, more that than going missing. I appreciate Shackleton play mf for the u23's but he did a srerling job when he came in and creates more and better than Ayling.
When we were at our best. Phillips dictated our pattern of play and tempo. He has been either used as a CB because of injuries and then suspended an our performances have suffered since (in my humble opinion).
