    That old chestnut, turned out to be the catalyst that spurred us on to win the League that season.
    I suspect NUFC fans at the time had the last laugh, similar to the current situation in many ways.

    So the mackem fans have been threatening their owner and his family during the transfer window? I thought they were in good form and life was great?

    I'm sure we will soon be told that it was toon fans masquerading as Sunderland fans. You know because they don't have bad eggs and are the epitome of virtuous fans. It is why I love it when they crow from the rooftops. They did it with the George Ormond, and then got egg all over their face with Johnson and now a coach there. They love saying our fans are idiots, and then some of theirs are threatening the chairman who has come in to rescue them.

    What is it they say about stones and glass houses?
