    Easy way to remember

    endo = throat
    colon = arse

its routine to snip a bit off if they find an ulcer or some such.

Endoscopy is an umbrella term for any procedure of that type. "Endo" meaning within or inside.
Strictly speaking a colonoscopy is still an endoscopy, but I suppose it's useful to have some sort of distinction. The correct term for the procedure I had is oesophagogastroduodenoscopy, but that's harder to get your mouth around than the bloody camera.

They chopped a bit off to test for coeliac disease - but I've had negative results from blood tests on that one. I suppose I'll find out if there was anything else in due course.
Anyway, that's enough of my ailments - I don't come on here to discuss my health. There are plenty a lot worse off.

A man was murdered in East Belfast by loyalist terrorists a couple of days ago, stabbed 11 times and had his skull fractured.
The Echo's headline.."Everton Fan Murdered In Barbaric Attack", a completely misleading headline, not football related at all, no doubt other murder victims have been Evertonians but that was never disclosed by the Echo.
Considering what happened to the Everton fan at Millwall last week the Echo should be careful as to what it prints or at least how it prints/posts it.

    Sorry, only just read this.
I've had problems for a while with acid reflux which damages the throat and vocal chords. An ex was recently diagnosed with oesophageal cancer as well which preyed on my mind a bit - but no, nothing like that it seems.
It's always good to find out you haven't got something nasty, but still leaves you with the problem of addressing the symptoms of course.

What a terribly sad story. I suppose Everton were only mentioned to make it relevant to the Echo running with it.

I agree with you that they need to be very careful how they report these things. The incident wasn't football related at all and knowing there are nutcases out there, it doesn't take much for 'revenge' retaliation - whatever that might be.

Reflux is pretty common, though thankfully not something I've ever suffered from. Surprising given the amount of **** I pour down my throat <laugh> But yes, it's always good to get some positive test results. You might remember when I got those insect bites on my leg that turned ulcerous about 2 years ago. This was due to an auto-immune response, the cause of which is still unknown. They tested for everything under the sun in the bloods they took. The consultant vascular surgeon actually looked somewhat disappointed when he told me I was in good general health <laugh>

had to share this, its quality.

There's just one thing that gets me down
and I say this open hearted,
    some believe that football began
the day the Premier league started.
We've had the jibes and nonsense talk
of how we've never won the gold,
but don't forget the days gone by,
    before our souls got sold.

    Money flooded football
    in August ninety two,
it gave the chance to billionaires
    to jump the glory queue.
    So don't get too downhearted
    with all this negative talk,
we were running rings around the lot of them,
    before they could even walk.

This is not just a Liverpool thing,
many others have had to suffer,
    watching their clubs go under,
when oil money is given to others.
now maybe I'm a bitter old sod,
who is getting too old in the tooth,
but it really grinds my bloody goat,
when these people can't take the truth.

It really makes me laugh out loud
    to hear this flippant chat,
saying how we've never won this league
and how we're not all that.
Remember our history is rich in class
and what went on long before,
five times we won the league championship,
even before Shanks walked through the door.

Count the moments before it started,
eighteen times we had it sealed,
    any victories that we earned,
came on a level playing field.
    So all you other supporters
that mock and have your say,
    remember when we won it,
it was won in the right way.

I have caught the cold/bug that is about. Feeling awful. Laid it on a bit thick with the Mrs and she has suggested I spend the day on the sofa watching the football and she will keep me supplied with hot drinks and Lemsip.

I put my saddest face on and said "Thanks Love"

Now to sit on my arse all day watching footie<party><party><party><party><party>

I get both every 2 years... the mechanical buggering is uncomfortable but I truly hate the throat one.... always an intense panic and always forget to breath through nose....
