Personally I think it is between Percy (sorry not very original) and Clan Des Obeaux I think and have backed Presenting percy but Shattered Love could be a very decent Ew at a big price!!
Shattered Love (together with Footpad) has been one of the disappointments of the season for me mate - you think they can rediscover her form in the spring?
Botani is the one who caught my eye on breeding. A very cheap purchase but interesting they have sent her to the Master of Closutton.
Here’s a question. What’s the point of this Leopardstown meeting? Same weekend as the rugby so going is out of the question and so close to the festival. The non runners is embarrassing. I thought it was gonna be a spectacle more like a damp squib. Just asking.
surely the drying ground put many off , there was a meet last week at cheltenham with many festival entrants , it’s still six weeks so a good opportunity to get a run into some without crossing the sea ? plus some decent prize money on offer .....
Florida the organisers can't really predict the weather months in advance can they?Rugby totally different crowd as well so don't see any issue there. Weather is so unpredictable these days, look at the big freeze last year. Damn you mother nature you are causing havoc with our racing calender
I remember you saying last season though that Native River won't win the gold cup.. It depends what the going is but if there is some cut in the ground agree it's Presenting Percy. If it came up really testing heavy going I would be leaning towards Native River again. If it comes up good I think Definitely Red enters the equation.. .
Try getting a hotel room in Dublin when the rugby’s on, factor a big race meeting, no chance. I get your point with the weather. English trainers would come for the money but it’s always about timing, it’s too close to the festival. Don’t get me wrong great idea.
Sometimes Cheltenham can bring the best and the worst out of a horse , her second to Min over 21/2m shows she has still got it!! And you could argue she really needs 3m and that savills Chase was a joke went no pace at all a fast run gold cup getting weight from the boys she will certainly give her true running and can see her quite easily running in to place , whether she is actually good enough to win is another thing
I still stand by that!! He won last year coz of the ground! No matter what the ground Percy will perform you could argue one of his best performances was carrying near enough top weight in the pertemps on good ground!!
