In terms of Prem years I think it's Poch, this is his 5th season with us now. Dyche and Howe have been at their clubs for longer but not always been in the Prem.
Presumably he was not up a 4th start in 10 days...Moura is usually better in the air than he was today and as Llorente got an assist and helped us push the toon deeper an deeper Pochetinno was proved right in his decision to not start him imo
Yeah in terms of Prem years it’s Poch then Klopp and then Pep. Bizarrely the Watford manager has lasted a whole year
Leicester always run us close and on their day are very very good. We are also still without Kane and Dele so I do not feel it will be as clear cut as you think. May not be good for my heart but would accept another late winner!
Can't wait for Llorente to tweet about how he isn't personally responsible for England's favourite bigot have a career...
If Sugar had been watching closely, he would have seen from the gestures Llorente was making, that he was saying the sun was in his eyes hence he put the chance wide.
In fairness sugar is a self publicising moronic twat who knows sod all about football...hence Gross followed by bloke in a coat. We win, Llorente assists, we go second so he decides to slate a player who is giving his all...who needs gooners with fans like him?
It's time for lunatic fringe watch Lineups announced Poch can't stand he was wrong about him - ****ssoko, neglecting to mention who the **** he was talking about Lucas misses a header A headless corpse could have headed that better - alexbw11 Lamela's header hits the post could’ve been 3-0 if Llorente starts - takimzzzz, who apparently wasn't watching the Watford game Half Time I am just tired of Pochettino....today you bench Llorente after he scored with a boosted morale then you set up a team that is doing more of crossing into the box without a tall target man. Poch is either clueless or just negative - coachBlackSrShe, whose response when called out for their bollocks was deleted for some strange reason... Rondon's header hits the post Poch the Fraud - bounto10 Llorente replaces Lucas What a **** sub, why always Lucas? Lamela is useless but he always stay on the pitch - michaelamaral97 Rose replaces Lamela When will lamela ever do anything in a spurs shirt?! - Homieyido, who wasn't watching when Lamela was scoring winning goals throughout September-October Lamela is Spanish for useless - BarbWireM, seemingly unaware that it's actually Italian for "the apple" Bring on Janssen or N'Jie. - ClintonNJiesus, whose has eighteen months to learn he was sold to Marseilles Anyone noticing a few of the names are starting to sound familiar?
“I signed a very talented player for Spurs on £50000 a week. He then said, can I have a goalscoring bonus. I said, what do you think I’m paying you 50 grand a week for, to miss them?” .
We never came close to winning 19 league matches in a season when Sugar was Chairman. Nor for many seasons before that as far as I can remember.
It's a sign of the times that a team with 19 wins from 25 games isn't 10 points clear and odds on for the title
Wasn't sure about the lineup at the start. Some of it worked and some of it didn't. Vertonghen had a very impressive game at left-back, but the 4-3-3 was fairly ineffective at creating chances. Moura on the left never works and having Lamela playing off the right too made us very narrow. Newcastle's well drilled defence did brilliantly for most of the match and restricted us to very few clear cut opportunities. Bringing on Llorente offered us a focal point and someone for Son to work with. It made it a lot more difficult for the Geordies to just sit in and stay compact. The weird shift before the goal gave us additional width, which added to the pressure. We're grinding out wins without a couple of our better players, but I can't help feel that we're not getting the best out of some of our squad. A bit of a rest this week may help to rejuvenate some tired legs.
Moura on the left just doesn't work, either play him on the right or let him roam. I thought that we might go with... Sonny Llorente Moura ...and try and get our tails in front, early in the game. However, having given Llorente bugger all football for a year and a half, means that he's not match fit. I know that he's not covering every blade of grass but he put in a shift at Palace and against Watford and 3 full games in 6 days risks injuring a very necessary resource. We have taken that risk with Sonny on his return, but judged it well/gotten away with it. It's a little bit galling to see Llorente being used properly after all this time being ignored or asked to be HK Mk II. I guess better late than never. If you get the ball up to him and onto his head, in the area, he comes alive and as defenders tire, he comes into his own as a beast of a target man. I'm a huge MP fan but on this one, he's not made the best of the player. Interesting to see Big Vic on the bench but probably telling that he didn't make it onto the pitch. Danny Rose being rested suggests that he's still not capable of playing multiple back-to-back games either. Still, we won and that's everything right now. It shuts the moaners up for a while. Some good news on the stadium would be lovely right now...........Daniel?
Can’t help but think that had Verts had a central target in that first half then we would have profited. Appreciate there are issues around Llorente lasting 3 games, but had he played in the first half he would at least have been able to see the ball.....
