You guys played well. I’d be disappointed the other way around. Respect the fact you didn’t come in here in anger. You were the better side first half. Was either even or we shaded the second half. Both sides looked fantastic at times. I’d love it if we both got automatic.
A couple of stupid mistakes from us in the 1st half, then over extending in the second half, leaving gaps to be exploited. Onwards
We definitely had the rub of the green in the first half and I thought you looked very good. Second half, though, we did what we haven't been able to do very often this season, especially at Carrow Road, and that was kill off the game.
We made a lot of mistakes first half, but luckily we didn't get punished for it. You guys did. I think that was the only difference tonight. That early goal was so important. The noise in the stadium was immense early stages. That early goal knocked it right back.
Shame there has been so much of this. Happy those people are having to process this result tonight. On all the football podcasts they don't mention it, and it seems to be brushed over when it is mentioned. Norwich asked for details on whether a Leeds member of staff trespassed onto the Norwich training ground. Never asked for points deduction or fine. They just asked how they would have spied on us, as it's not really possible from the road.
I'm still pinching myself after that match. The quality great teams have is poise, which allows them to counter what the opposition throws at them and take the chances when they come. Ironic that the Leeds player turned his back to provide the perfect deflection for the first goal. Had he held his position in the wall, the result might have been different. The fine moments that turn key matches. Pukki's awareness to be in the perfect place for the second goal was another key moment. Hernandez and Buendia were very effective attacking, but IMO they were even better defending as they took the ball off the feet of opposing players and turned defence into attack. Great performance by the whole team.
Absolutely buzzing still. However, trying to be realistic: For all the great result and performance, got to think that Leeds really played to our strengths - they came out attacking and made it much easier for us. We could have scored six or seven because they pressed so hard. On another day though, we could have been hurt. We still look vulnerable from set pieces and Krul varies wildly from wonderful to worrying. Let’s hope we can really kick on from this, focusing on tight defending and ruthless finishing. Fortunately we have Pukki...
