No, but these players are likely to be peaking around then, and are already key members of the squad Ferdinand, in three years will retire or dramastically lose form as will a good 5 or 6. But Fergie has handled retirements before. As you said, Fergie will shape the team for the next manager. And boy does he know how to shape a team. Chuck it in the top manager that Fergie's links will persuade and whoever that is will be man enough to take over. Not saying it will be easy, but we are not going to fall anywhere.
Who said Shanks never had friends? Stop making things up. It's funny how you've been made to realise United are far from "Striving to be the next Liverpool" so are now bringing your hopes for the future into the equation How long until Dalglish is off.... AGAIN?
four2three1, So you would honestly expect Mourinho(or another top european manager)to take over from SAF and be told,"Sir Alex has left you a team so manage them",sorry, every new manager wants his own backroom staff, wants the team to play his way, wants his own players and wants no outside interference from the boardroom.
There you go again with your wild assumptions and innacurate information. Kenny "got off " due to the stress of the Hillsborough disaster,I cant be arsed trying to explain it to you because its obvious your mind is already set on false information as to why he left LFC.
Laughing from the sidelines about ushited being worth more than the pool. It's only worth what someone pays, and so far, no ones paying for utd. As for transfer funds, someone said Saf gets funds when he NEEDS them, and that he had 25 mil last summer. By saf's own admission, this is too low, and he stated, they missed out on players because they wouldn't spend 'daft money' showing his own frustration with a lack of funds. And finally, saf's comments about 4 ecls being discarded as 'a slight error' come on for ****s sake the man that he was getting closer to pools 5 cups, he was livid when he failed, and I don't think he's going to succeed on that one ha ha ha
Agreed Kingkenny, Saf said in an interview earier this season. "Liverpool are ahead on European cups and league cups but we're ahead on Fa cups and world championships". How pathetic.
Yes, Fergie will leave a team for him. In the same way if Fergie left tomorrow, there would be a team ready and waiting for him. Like I said Fergie will leave when he has truely no more to give, more then likely it will be due to his health. By this point he will have no chioce but to watch from the outside. Mourinho clearly wouldn't take over and keep Fergie's staff. Neither would Moyes, Neither would even Allardyce. Chances are members of Fergie's team will go on and manage (like Mclaren). Very few managers leave the staff in place. Mourinho would inherent Fergie's team, sell who he doesn't want and bring in who he does/can, he may or may not have unlimited funds, but his name and Manchester United's name will be a big draw in itself. You mention interference from the board. Couldn't be more wrong in that respect. Of all of the big teams with overseas owners United are blessed in the sense that the Glazers don't interfere and pull stunts like sacking assistant managers, or buying players that the manager doesn't wan't (Abromovich, Sheik Mansour) An example is Ronaldo, clearly they would love 80 million pounds, but i am almost certain that if Fergie told them i am desperate to keep him, they would have abided. Fergie, though had his own agreements with Ronaldo , which is a different matter completely. The Glazers may have faults, but they appear very easy to work with in that respect.
As i have already stated 25 million pounds would have bought us Ozil and Van Der Vaart. Fergie prefers nuturing youth. And who could argue with him. Hernandez was a steal, if this season is anything to go by. We would cost a fortune to buy, Who has that sort of money? I don't see how Fergie stating "4 CL trophies make you a great team" applies. Someone raised the point that United "strive to be the new Liverpool" We are now a bigger club than Liverpool.
But you've just shot yourself in the foot mate, you openly admit that fergie(when he retires)leaves a team/squad that he and most probably you and the rest of satans own are happy with. And you also admit that be it Mourinho,Moyes Allardyce or whoever they will change that team/squad in an instant to their own players and tactics etc. Therefore Fergies dynasty will fail unless he leaves a yes man with fergie ethics and mindset to take over.
Shot myself in the foot? You said our squad is aging and going downhill, i replied by stating Fergie will leave the squad in as good a condition as he can. Of course he will. So what is the problem with, say, Mourinho making changes with the squad? How many realistic changes will he make in his first year? 3? 4 at most. He will be more than happy with whatever Fergie leaves him. As he would be if he tookover tomorrow (as i said he wants about 4 of our players anyway). Even if Ryan Giggs (a so called yes man) was appointed, Giggs will want to make his own changes, or do you think he will phone Fergie every year for ideas for new players?
1,i never said you're squad is "aging and going downhill" 2,SAF has been there 26 years?, 3,Mourhino stays at clubs an average of 3 and a half years. The man wont stay ANYWHERE for the longhaul.
Answers. 1) Apologies. you didn't you fellow Liverpool fan did. 2) Yes im am aware of the length of Fergies' tenure, this adds weight to my argument that when he calls it a day, he well and truly will be unable to continue. Do you think he will spend his retirement directing our next manager on everything? No he will leave his successor a squad and enjoy his retirement. 3) Incase you didn't realise i already stated Mourinho stays nowhere for long, a reason why i am confident he will leave Madrid soon and may take over United. But if there is one man to take us through our potential sticky post Fergie patch it is Mourinho. He would also leave the squad in as good a condition as he finds it. Next manager after him would inherit a good squad.
