Parliament had the chance to vote for a binding no no-deal amendment (Cooper) and it didn't get a majority. It's easy for MP's to vote for an amendment that says, "we don't want no deal but this is nothing more than an expression of wish." For me, it makes a mockery of Parliament to vote for a negative. They should be proactive and vote for a positive, and, fortunately, WTO is there as a fallback if they fail
They've put the decision on ice pending all the uncertainty at present over the terms of Brexit. Can't blame them. All the more reason to get things sorted by 29 March and not let it run on. Good to see that no current jobs in Sunderland will be affected by this decision.
Yes, I saw that. Bizarre. It was Macron's closest aide who dreamed about old Brigitte kicking the bucket so Macron could gain sympathy as the grieving widower. Must give Brigitte a warm feeling!
So how do you see No Deal influencing Nissan's decision-making? Does anyone who supports Brexit outside the North East give a toss?
BBC has just said that Nissan is only looking at future investment which could have created unto 200 jobs but will continue with its current business. it doesn't mean or say people will lose jobs. They added that some years they invest and others they don't. Before people jump the gun they need to look into this for other reasons. Brexit is a great excuse for anything at the moment.
It's not cancelled, it's postponed pending resolution of Brexit. A no deal would still have to have terms agreed between the the UK and the EU to minimise disruption all around.
Brexit may well have been the main reason however there has been talk in the last week of a slump in cars sales and some countries heading for a recession. I think it's too early to start blaming Brexit. It's like Chanel choosing London for its global office. Is that because of Brexit or the France is crap for business?
At a wild guess they’re probably banking on us becoming some sort of ultra-low corporation tax haven, or have been given assurances on that. Let me know when it’s ok to pin this on Brexit.
This is where we will always disagree Watford. He does have a point even though you are mocking him. His family died sticking up to bullies where as your Corbyn's/Umunna's/Cables of this country would rather give in.
Yet another example of the huge damage Brexit is causing before it even happens. It is sad so many Brexiteers seem blind to the Realities of Brexit, let alone the Forecasts.
It’s very sad that we had to have wars and people had to die. It’s got absolutely **** all to do with Brexit.
oh crap watch out the remoaners are coming out of their Euro holes! Quickly they will be demanding another losers vote because people didn't know that Nissan were being cautious about investment! Wheres Vince! please log in to view this image
Arguably it did. That doesn’t mean it makes sense to create some sort of equivalence between the Nazis and the EU.
