Manning on for Luongo who was close to a 2nd yellow just before. Smith headed a great Wells cross over.
We needed at least a point today as we have a tough six games coming up ... please log in to view this image
Poor result in a game we really should be taking all three points, if not at least a draw. I wasn’t totally convinced about McLarens early praise for the importance of the loan signings and Rangel; but they really do seem to be the difference in our performances of late. We shall soon find out as they come back into the side. Now it’s over to our cup run and time to put Portsmouth down and head for the home televised cup game. C’mon u R’rrrrrrrrssssss - lets bounce back!!
1) kick the ball Lumley. For all their strengths Lynch and Leinstner aren't comfortable on the ball, playing it short will only put us under pressure. Freeman can play, but why is he coming short to start play from our own box? 2) move when you are off the ball. It gives the man on the ball options and it's your job. Stop standing still. 3) nice little ground and good atmosphere. Good following from us. I wasn't expecting many but our end looked pretty full. 4) at least one clear handball which should have given us a penalty. Ref didn't see it. Our guy (Freeman I think) had his back to the ref and yet the ref still reckon he saw he handballed it. 5) good fun afternoon but its freezing cold up north.
Just seen highlights & should’ve had a late pen for handball, on chances we deserved something out of it.
