We keep getting the most ridiculous fixture scheduling. Whenever we're picked for TV we get the exact opposite slot of what we'd want. We could have played Sunday this week and Saturday next before the CL kicks up for us again but, nah, we get an 8 day break for no reason
A good effort against yet another team that parked the bus. Winks was nice and tidy but when he lost possession in stoppage time, I did panic for a moment. Was surprised to see Rose come on for Lamela. Why take off an attacker for a defender when there were plenty of defenders on the pitch and a goal was needed. Llorente did what was needed when he came on, and did well to lay off to Son. What would Spurs do without Son? I thought Lamela did okay, Eriksen did okay but as usual, needs to work on his free kicks. Lloris was reliable today. All in, a good performance but getting an early goal would have caused Newcastle to open up a bit more. Now I'm rooting for Arsenal...
...And the Spuuuuurss go marching onnnnnnnn..... Waaaahoooo! I'm loving these late wins. It gets the blood up in the cold weather. Its the freezing cold first halves I'm struggling with. Second, eh? Signings are for wimps! COYS!
Or Yoda : "Draw you shall not". Keep grinding out wins because we need you to finish ahead of those two.
Brilliant to see us win our last 3 prem matches very late on with such injury problems...not bad for a team of bottlers. The team never gave up and continued to believe which was great...Son was excellent again but thought winks and Sissoko were almost as good but for me Vertongen was motm...great stuff.
He put a lot of good crosses in from the left. Begs the question why Llorente wasn't in the middle to meet them from the start?
Managed to get a few cans down me despite the early KO so wasn’t feeling the cold as much. Thought Vertonghen was class at LB. Nice one, Sonny
Afternoon, people. Only saw the last 15 mins of live play (out and about, thinking of claiming for an 'rcl assist' - went into a betting shop to watch, Son scored within 2 mins) . It seems from what little I saw is how it was for 90 mins, as I predicted all the PL games this month would sadly be. But a win is a win. Eight days to prepare for the next one, and in Spurs physio we trust for the strongest squad for the Dortmund CL game.
He's not got the fitness to play 3 games in 6 days. We got him on in time to make the difference today and I reckon that was always a possibility. MP is learning that he's a weapon when things get tight at the end of games. It's taken him too long to realise it but Hslleleuja (and the Spuuuuurss go marrrrchiiiing onnnnnnnn!)
