Please take Eriksen off free kicks...he needs something to think about. Absolute dross for someone who is our playmaker
It's all a bit sad really.. Need to score early in second half if we're going to win this one. Llorente on for Lamela soon pls.
We're playing pretty well overall. Newcastle are doing their best to make it difficult for us but we're still finding ways through and holding them at arms length. Should really have scored a couple but if we can carry on like this, maybe upping the tempo a bit we should find the goals we need.
Not a bad first half. Verts is doing very well with crossing into the box. We need Moura off and Llorente on to take advantage of the crosses into the box.
What a frustrating half... Some decent stuff, especially Verts, but generally meh. Did we really ever threaten as much as Newcastle did? They arguably have had the best chances. Lamela is so feckin' frustrating. Clearly has talent in his boots but fails to deliver when it matters. Could be the first draw of the season - although can see us conceding on the break....
Was there a foul on Son near the end of that half...it looked like one from behind the goal we were attacking?
Weird decision not to play Llorente from the start today. His winning goal midweek must have given him confidence and if I was him, I’d expected to have started today.
