Isn’t the whole point of club rugby to keep players fit for internationals?

    And they’re off

Possibly one of the more even tournaments with Ireland favourites to retain the title but confidence exists in the Welsh, English, French (depending on which France turns up) and even Scotish rank (if they can win away).

Look like a great way to finish preparations for Japan.

    Six Nations kicks off.

Ireland must be favourites, followed by Wales on a run, but really they could all beat each other, except Italy.

Relish this while it lasts, lots of talk about a global league played over 12 months with at least two divisions, play offs in a short tournament format, truncated leagues in World Cup and Lions Tour years, obviously all about the money, but might reduce Windsor’s irritation with autumn internationals.

I'm currently working on a huge telecomms project at Murrayfield, been there for the past two months, with probably a similar amount of time left. Not being a rugby fan, I'm impressed with how the stadium is looking, they really go all out to make this event a spectacle - it's like a mini music festival with all the bars and catering stands.

Actually not a bad concert venue, saw Iron Maiden there about 10 years ago and had a great night...

My half Welsh daughter is watching this in Newcastle Students Union. She has just texted to remind me that her first loyalty is to England.
