And you hate us because we've won the CL 5 times and you can't manage 4, come on admit it you hate that don't you!
but we could have won it more had Liverpool fans not got the whole of English football banned from Europe....
Not really as we didn't win the league in that period. We could possibly have won a CWC or UEFA though. My reasons? As a proper nipper I didn't, I even wanted them to win their first couple of european cups. But as soon as I started going to games that changed, you could sense the genuine animosity between the fans and Liverpool ALWAYS sang 'Munich 58'. It doesn't take long to loathe them passionately and, added to that, they were dominant in that period so that helped along my hatred. I have NEVER had a pleasant experience with a match going scouse Liverpool fan, and I've been to plenty games between our clubs. That is not the case with Everton fans. It's never left me since, although it has been dilluted. What keeps it ticking over though is this refusal to accept any responsibilty in any of the less savoury incidents involving their fans. It is always down to someone or something else, if not they say 'those aren't proper Liverpool fans'. They'd get more kudos of they just held their hands up occasionally. I also hate this constant 'history' bollocks. ALL clubs have history, deal with it.
Well when we did eventually get back into europe english football was way behind the rest of europe due to the ban.. so we may have won it sooner than 99 had english football been playing in europe..
Possibly, but we won the CWC first year back and then were scuppered by the three foreigner rule when we got into the CL. Giggs, Highes and McClair were considered foreign back then and we had to sacrifice the likes of Schmeichel and Cantona on occasion. The ban did set English clubs back though of course. Everton were hit hardest I think, they'd have nailed the european cup in 1986 in my opinion, great side.
And I might of saved a penalty in 1984 in the U7's tournament if I didn't catch a cold the day before.
I do think Liverpool set the whole of English football back because of the ban... possibly even the national team as our players were not having european football.. Yes it may have made no difference to Uniteds trophy count..
I probably wouldn't have pissed myself during school lunch in front of hundreds of kids when I was 6 if I went to the toilet before hand.
