Morning, team. Well old girl Mother Nature certainly has been brutal overnight. What, what?!? And there remains no sign of the ‘rarely spotted NH fixture’ for the time being.

As a result, and to liven up proceedings, I’ll set you all a task or homework if you prefer. Ring up your leading mole / insider/ contact / source (delete as appropriate) and ask them for their best piece of advice for the month ahead. Then report back to the forumites. I’ll start with what mine said, ‘Wear a big coat and a woolly hat whenever you go out’.

Sound advice, crew, and I think you will agree the best ‘I’ve been told…’ these pages has ever seen – with the exception of Oddy’s brilliant ‘inside’ info re Altior last month. Old boy the forum will forever be in your debt.

So come on get dialling your leading mole / insider/ contact / source (delete as appropriate)…

1:00 Wolves - Classy Cailin 7/2. I actually went to the yard recently to look at one of their horses, Keyahl (not sure if that's the correct spelling) with 3 friends who I'm thinking of forming a syndicate with. We got speaking to one of the regular riders of the above horse and they actually told us to back it for it's run on Wednesday when it was a much bigger price than today. They were very confident but the horse was, shall we say ****e so I am a bit surprised to see it turned out again so soon. However the fact that it is running again so soon would suggest to me that they are still pretty confident of the horse picking up a race. Or maybe I'm reading it wrong. I'm willing to chuck a few quid at it and chance it though.

My next top class piece of advice is ........................... don't listen to a word ANYONE says during a Cheltenham preview night. Just sit back and enjoy The Couch being a belligerent twat <ok>

Just how ‘last decade’ are ‘Cheltenham Preview Nights’?!? Once incredibly insightful but now just a bookies PR exercise with the addition of a trainer or jockey being paid a fistful of loot for spouting inane rubbish.

Nowadays normally attended solely by punters desperate for any sort of steer after backing 25 horses ante-post who are now all out injured!

It was given a poor ride the other day and I’d wondered if that run was to get the horse ready for next time out. Quick turnaround suggests it might be that.

I guess the Northern ones are a decent night out (usually ten or fifteen quid with a free pint and pie & peas chucked in) but the big ones are exactly as you say.

I have exactly zero ante post bets, all on the day only

In all seriousness, people, why have Sandown Park not abandoned tomorrow’s meet yet?!?

I love The Lieutenant’s quote after saying the chances are almost nil of them racing tomorrow - "But maybe there is an Angel Gabriel that can come and rescue us."

The media seems generally very optimistic that the meeting will go ahead. They had some snow last night but it is apparently pretty wet and they are hopeful it will melt over the coming hours.

Hope they are successful but instances like this always strike me as a case of The Groundsman trying to build up his part.

Huge bonus for followers of the forum’s favourite and most profitable system, this evening, by the way. A horse named after a Coronation Street character runs tonight at Dundalk – Cerebus (7.00).

    hi fellas!

    wolves,1 00:

poor fare, but what can you expect in a class 6 handicap? i think,SECRET GLANCE has a major chance,if repeating his good run in third last time out,and the first and second that day have held the form up since,so he has surely more going for him than some others..

If you do get a horse with them, don’t let Eoin Walsh ride. That was shocking again by him.

It’s the frost that stops racing not snow.

I'd listen to Keatley on Chelts hcapps, his record last two years has been very good. Also David Casey solid on Mullins barn.Agreed preview nights just a piss up now, gone are the days of the odd golden nugget of info that would be shared. Go with your gut extinct and don't be swayed by some of these so called 'panel experts'.

I see now even some ‘twitter tipsters’ are being asked to contribute at some of these evenings! How they really are going down hill!!
