I thought Ward looked a good player at this level. The trouble is, at his age his fitness record is only going to get worse. Maybe Forest will release him in January, and he will take a pay cut (a big one) to join us. Unlikely I know.
Ward's family still live oop North he won't take a big pay cut to come down South for anything less than 18 month contract and I doubt he can play for another 18 months
Same old, same old transfer deadline day at Charlton. Like every previous one under this arsehole of an owner.
January transfers Steer out ….Maxwell in … Weaker Clarke out …. Williams in … Stronger Ajose out ….. Parker in ….. Somehow weaker ?? how can we replace Ajose with a weaker player Grant out ….. Purrington in … needed to balance the squad but our top scorer for a left back?? A poor window, but look on the bright side …. the Belgian has made some money and saved on wages which is nice
REVISED … January transfers Steer out ….Maxwell in … Weaker Clarke out …. Williams in … Stronger Ajose out ….. Parker in ….. Somehow weaker ?? how can we replace Ajose with a weaker player Ward out ….. Purrington in … needed to balance the squad Grant out …. nobody in …. Very much weaker A very poor window, but look on the bright side …. the Belgian has made some money on the sale of Grant and saved on monthly wages which is nice One loan space not used … bad by LB/Gallen … perhaps Gallen's first mistake at Charlton!!
The Party line (to be mimicked on ITTV) will be as follows - The (small) Squad is even smaller, but the quality is better” 2 loans & 2 short term deals ...
I would like to point out that I was one of the 4 who predicted a net loss of one player I wasn't expecting it to be Grant though!
Good morning. Just thought I would take a quick look to see the comments from yet another underwhelming transfer window!
Steve Gallen is very complimentary about Josh Parker, and says he knows him from QPR. There is still a nagging doubt in my mind that we are signing free cast offs from Gillingham
