Danny Green is 23, and spent most of his career in Non-League/League 2. Dale Stevens is 21 and spent most of his career in League 1/2. Paul Hayes is 27 and has spent nearly all of his career in League 1 (apart from a season in the Championship where he was out of his depth and only managed 2 goals in 20 appearances for Preston) Jason Euell should be drawing his pension - legs have gone!! Rhoys Wiggins is 23 and spent most of his career in League 2. Michael Smith is 19 and has never played League football. Do you really think Premiership clubs were interested in players of that ilk?
Yes In 2006/7 he scored 34 goals (Conference) In 2007/8 he scored 22 goals (Conference) In 2008/9 he scored 30 goals (Conference) In 2009/10 he scored 23 goals (League 1) In 2010/11 he scored 17 goals (Championship) I don't thonk any of the players listed above come remoteley close to matching that do they?
Hello Chrissy Wissy - long time no hear! Morison was at Stevenage and is now with Deliah's mob! (and showed up for Wales against England)
I've missed this Tommy boy! Scrutinising the Millwall squad that went up- players like Morrison, Hackett, Dunne, Craig, Ward, Abdou etc etc hadn't set the footballing world a light. Indeed none with any experience above Championship, and the few that had either played in sides that had been relegated (yourselves included), or at average sides like Palace and Plymouth. Your strength was that you built a ''team'', a mould which I think CAFC are trying to replicate. We have experienced players in Euell and Alonso (playing Premiership and La Liga football respectively), and teaming it with young outstanding candidates from League One last year (Stephens and Green). We have been clever, the squad is easily one of the best here. But having a top squad is half the battle- time for the hard work and CP to get them playing how he wants. I still maintain we will be top 4 come May- but unless your top 2 then there are no guarantee's you'll be promoted.. no matter how good your side is.

Indeed none with any experience above Championship, and the few that had either played in sides that had been relegated (yourselves included), or at average sides like Palace and Plymouth. The point is Chrissy, we were a League 1 team that had plenty of players with Championship credentials to their names (Harris,Forde,Alexander,Trotter,Ward,Robinson,Abdou,Dunne,Frampton,Bolder,Grabban,Martin,Craig,Baron,Smith,Price,Batt - 17 players that had played in a higher League) How many have Charlton got?
And to add to that, we did it whilst keeping the wage bill down to a minimum, with players that wanted to wear the Millwall shirt, play for the team, not turn up for the money. Charlton's wage bill is probably higher than ours now, yet we have more quality in our side. Someone said that you are unbeaten at the moment, so the throwing **** at the wall system aint doing too bad. How did you get on two seasons ago when you were unbeaten for the 1st 10 or so games of that season? You bottled it with players like Nicky bailey, Sam Sodje, Lloyd Sam, Kyle Reid, wagstaff, Shelvey, Forster, Burton, daily, the list goes on. You probably had a better squad then than you do now. And probably still spending the same on wages.
Being generous in some of those names TC- Batt and Grabban for example hardly touched the Champonship. Alexander had played no Championship football before either, so your putting a bit of a spin on your point. I could argue that Green, Stephens, Euell, Alonso, Wiggins, BWP, Jackson etc etc have Championship credentials. 4 of those players mentioned have graced the Premiership.
Okay so by your logic Chris Smalling isn't good enough to play for England because he was playing non-league a couple of years ago? Similarly Morison isn't good enough for the Premier League for the same reason? Charlie Austin is useless because his most prolific goalscoring ratios were in non-league? As for those players, like I said, look it up if you don't believe me From memory: Danny Green - reportedly wanted by Norwich, Peterborough, Palace and a few others Dale Stephens - wanted by Burnley Paul Hayes - wanted by Derby and Southampton Jason Euell - Doncaster wanted him to return (and his legs haven't gone) Rhoys Wiggins - wanted by Watford Michael Smith - wanted by Stoke and Birmingham amongst others.
And for those saying about our wage bill, our wage bill is very small, probably about a third of what it was when Sam, Bailey, Burton et al were here (the reference from an earlier poster to Nicky Forster was an invalid one as he only played about 3 games for us). Racon and Semedo were shown the door because they weren't worth anywhere near the wages they were on/wanted, and neither of them would get into our team this year. Similarly we brought in a new GK because Rob Elliot was asking for too much. As for 'Championship credentials': Alonso, Euell, Cort, Doherty, Hughes, Jackson and BWP have all played in the Premier League, and the likes of Morrison, Wiggins, Wagstaff, Solly, Hamer, Stephens, Green, Hayes etc (as well as those aforementioned) could all cope in the Championship (and in most cases have played there). Not to mention that our second 11 easily defeated a strong Reading squad.

According to who? - Their agents, The Football rumours site or The Mirror/Sun If these players were "wanted" by all these other clubs, why didn't they bid for them?
Oh my god do your research, most of them come from the players own mouths in interviews, the official website, the BBC or a few less reputable sites such as SkySportsNews.
Could also be that they valued them differently to charlton/selling clubs... Come on TC, your better than this.
If that were the case, the clubs would have put a bid in that was rejected - none of those players previous clubs have turned down any bids from Prem/Championship clubs for them According to The Sun, Trotter was wanted by Arsenal, but chose to stay at Millwall because he wants to win things and our potential is much stronger - sounds silly doesn't it
TC, for the most part we matched the bids made by other clubs and the players had the option of which club to sign for.
Enough of the bollocks now. This thread is dying a death. Let's just get to the bottom line. Millwall are in the Championship, until at least May - FACT. Charlton are in League 1, until at least May - FACT. Charlton have had higher crowds than Millwall - FACT. But over the past 3 seasons, these higher crowds have done **** all to make Charlton better than Millwall - FACT.
You musy have offered a hell of a lot more in wages then - what player (recently League 2 or non-League) would turn down the chance to play for a Premiership side and opt to play for an un-proven manager of a League 1 side? Makes no-sense at all and shows these players have no ambition and are only interested in the £££
