I appreciate your vie Bedford, there is some merit in what you say but I think DF/SW will look at our past failings and continue with their young players policy.
Were you at the game on Saturday Bedford?? I was and IMO only Bendy looked as though he was really struggling in the last 15 minutes. As Dave says, we have key players coming back from injury and the likes of McLean 'chomping at the bit' on the bench. I agree that the number of goals conceded is a concern, but DF apperrs to have decided that Godfrey's best position is CB and I know I'm not alone in thinking otherwise.
We have highly rated big name players like Rhodes and Passlack that struggle to get minutes . I'm not a fan of loan signings but if we can get another highly rated Kraut in on the cheap that would be good . The Dresden player would be useful as cover on the left .
I agree but it does make me wonder, if we do get promoted, how many of these players will be able to make the step up
On paper none of our squad . If Lewis gets suspenjured then we have no other left backs . It's either Max or Godfrey thrown in there. 2 players for each position should be a minimum requirement. Let's hope Krul can play every game too
It's a matter for contention, but my guess would be at least 14 out of our top 29 players would be able and more than that eager to prove themselves in the PL. That's more, IMO, than for any other promotion team we've had.
Pinto to Binners ? https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ipswich-town-linked-with-ivo-pinto-of-norwich-city-1-5873164
"The Dresden player would be useful as cover on the left" . Philip Heise confirmed as signed - smart buy by the looks of it.
Before any of our recent signings put on the shirt I would suggest that none of them would be on the radar of existing Premier League teams . I don't want to count any chickens yet so any talk of promotion will be avoided for a while by myself . Super stition 23
Me too - it makes perfect sense. And avoids square pegs in round holes should anything untoward, like suspenjuries, happen to Lewis.
Judging by the VitalNorwich article from earlier in the day, probably a smart bit of business on top of any value he adds to the squad. Was out of contract this summer and had a disagreement with his manager. They were quoting a low 6-figure sum. Bearing in mind Marcel Franke looks ok in the same defence as him, I think he's more likely to be cover than competition. The falling out with his manager raises alarm bells too. But the club have made a point of how important it is to have the right characters in the dressing room, so I imagine they've done their homework there. And if it all goes wrong, he's cheap enough that we can probably flip a profit on him regardless. Edit: Apparently he was due to join this summer as a free agent regardless.
He looks a decent player. Looks like he can play on both the left and the right. Any mention of a fee?
