Aside from the fact we can't afford him, I don't think Austin would fit well with our current formation. He played best alongside a big man - Zamora, who was the battering ram facilitating his goals. I don't think he has the legs or pace to play in the position Wells does. Would we want to completely reset our formation simply to accommodate a (admittedly brilliant) player who would only be with us for a short while if he hit form again? I'd rather us work towards getting Oteh more game time by getting safe, and getting far enough ahead in games to bring him on for 30 minutes. Planning for the long term.
Villa are the guy who has lost his life savings in Vegas and re-mortgaged now pawning his wedding ring and putting it all on 13.
This was under the radar for me, but another reason to dislike Derby County. Hide your iPhones, lads. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46938485

The Reading manager Jose Gomes was questioned about this after the Portuguese media linked Taarabt to the club. He said that ' He's a very good and talented player, but a move is unlikely as his salary is too high. '
This is a bit of an odd one, it looks like Alex Baptiste is going on loan to Luton for the rest of the season. His contract is up in the summer.
I agree. But I thought we were a bit short in numbers in defence. Maybe there's an immediate recall clause. That's assuming he does leave.
Seems a little oddas we are not over full on the defender department Baptiste is low on the pecking order but Lynch and BFG are topping up yellows., but Hall and Furlong can play CD, and with Rangell and Cameron coming back , but no youngsters ready yet as far as I can see. On fullbacks we have Bidwell, Kakay, Furlong, Rangell, Niko andCousins...I suppose it would get someone off the salary bill, especially as he will definately be off in the summer. I suppose so
Can't see this happening, he wouldn't fancy a relegation scrap, especially in the Championship. Can't see why the link to Reading has been made. Maybe he know's or has worked with their manager?
