I've said before that Barrack road is dangerous after the game Why cant they stop all traffic for 15mins after the game They can block off Strawberry no problem so why not Barrack road
Tonight was not the night for my phone battery to die at half time while I was out..... Hell of a surprise when I got home though.....
Great result and performance last night. If we can take that spirit and effort and apply it to the rest of the season we will be ok. Still does not mean Rafa will stay mind and it won't change the fact that we are not progressing but for the time being I will take the win and surprising three points. Thought everyone was outstanding yesterday.
I predicted a win and while I'm disappointed we didn't get the 3rd, still a great result I'll be honest though, that was a shell of a Man C side. We did well to stifle them but they played with no pace whatsoever. They just moved it slowly and never came close to dragging us out of position. They can't use tiredness as an excuse with that squad which leads me to believe they choked. The big thing for me is Rafa learnt from his mistake last season. We always tried to carry a threat on the counter this time. You can't do what he did last season, its unacceptable at home to try just to keep the score down. Treat it with respect and defend for your lives by all means, but you must be always trying to win. Obviously City were under par but I believe if we had done what we did last year, they'd have run out 3-0 winners as they slowly picked us off. In the end we looked quite comfortable to be honest.
It wasn't a "shell of a Man City side". It was just about their strongest team. They were under par and they didn't play well because of how we played. Give credit where it's due. Don't give credit with one hand and then take it away with the other. We beat Man City's strongest team and at the end we deserved to. Move on from your love of Pardew and just join in with the Rafa love in. Pardew's not coming back.
How can you not love a man who puts put plain glass in his spectacles to make himself look intelligent and nut people who p!ss him off.
I think you've misunderstood. When I say shell of side I wasn't talking about personnel. Indeed I said they have no excuses. They were bringing 75m rated players off the bench! However they were well well below par. If you have watched them of late they have been scintillating. Moving the ball quickly, dynamic movement, loads of options, basically unplayable. They had scored 29 goals without reply in the last 6 games. I sat there last night and I never felt they were a threat because they were so slow in everything they did. As I say they can't use tiredness, they have the biggest and best squad in the league. I think the pressure got to them. I have also given credit where its due. Rafa learnt from his mistakes. He sent us out well drilled again, just like Cardiff. We were so disciplined and I think we deserved to win personally. Jesus these Rafa waxers are very sensitive to anything they deem not bestowing unbridled worship on their god. We played well, Man C didn't, Rafa got his tactics spot on and learnt from previous mistakes. All factual and correct. I think the Rafa worship boys need to settle down and stop getting so upset every time someone says something even mildly critical. I think the Rafa boo boys need to get in the real world and realise we are lucky to have him and he is the best man for the current task. Why can't people just be objective about things instead of making tits of themselves. If we lose the boo boys want him out and jump off the deep end, its embarrassing. Equally embarrassing is the Rafa waxers spewing out the lines "where are the boo boys now" after a win.
That'a all well and good,so why didn't he get the team playing like that in August/September instead of just trying to keep the score down?
Pass Mick, I have no idea. I have said many times I believe you should treat games against the big 4-6 as free swings. By that I don't mean going full throttle to end up getting picked off and mullered. I just think you have to carry a threat. Man C last season, Chelsea this season, plus others, were just ones where the manager got it completely wrong. We gained nothing from his approach to those games. The notion that if you don't play that way then you get mullered is rubbish. Last night, Man U last season, plus countless others prove otherwise.
