It was a mildly jokey comment on a thread about promoting youth, but you're right it is not a matter for levity, sorry.
I thought Chelsea's model was to get around FFP as they didn't have the revenue streams of their competitors and were bankrolled by Abramovich (which FFP was supposed to stop). If you look at that model it is actually pretty good, Chelsea are ****ing useless at it though. Sell players on the (relative) cheap to replace them with a big name signing for more money who doesn't turn out as good and then the player they sold gets bought for loads more than they sold them for. Off the top of my head they let Salah, De Bruyne, Lukaku, Bertrand go for a lot less then they probably could have got for them, even someone like Romeu is now a solid PL midfielder and they sold him for £5m which is nothing. There will no doubt be more I've forgotten and some of the players they have recently sold for peanuts will probably go on to be worth far more than they sold them for.
Udinese are the masters of buying cheap and selling for big money. That model has served them well for years.
Our latest 'prodigy' in action last night .... what a tackle . please log in to view this image ONSIDEVIEW.COM@theonsideview
That was good actually, I assume you’re talking about the Choudhary one. I enjoyed that. The fullback was good as well, Ricardo is it? Leicester should have won last night, if Maddison didn’t turn to **** in front of goal.
Not sure what was wrong with Maddison - Puel left him out recently and looked like his confidence was shot to bits ... Choudhry's tackle was top drawer ... not many people catch-up with Mane ... the timing ... Pereira looks an absolute steal when you compare what he cost to Keita
Yeah, it was a great tackle. The scousers were probably shouting for a pen even though it was 10 yards outside the box.
