Just a few pointers to keep the thread alive.
As each day goes by it becomes even more evident that we need a hard Brexit.
The EU will never negotiate a deal that is beneficial to all until we have actually left.
All these comments of shortages etc.,(which I don't believe for one minute) if true just shows how we have sold our country down the river since we joined the "Common Market" Let's bring back the supplier source to the UK AND BE PROUD OF MADE IN BRITAIN.
I noted yesterday that the supermarkets have now jumped on the bandwagon complaining about not being able to bring in perishable goods such as lettuce etc. So what we can grow our own. I remember the time when we used to only have seasonal veg etc. that were grown in the UK but when they were in season they had taste, not like the insipid stuff we get thrown at us today.
Grow it ourselves and manufacture it our selves we've done it before and we can do it again = more jobs for the Brits. Got to be a win win situation. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Then you can get your fisheries back, your orchards, you won't be subsidising the inefficient french farmers, own your own water. Maybe, just maybe, you can start rebuilding some of the manufacturing industries that went o'seas as a 'cost cutting' measure, cost cutting that you never saw the benefit of. I see it as a big win for you. As someone said on here, England went through two disastrous wars and came out pretty beat up, but she recovered. England could do it again. Northern Ireland voted remain, let them, same with he scots, you don't need them nearly as much as they need you.

If you mean will she get anything different - then yes it’s a complete waste of time.

If you mean will she go expecting to get nothing but using it as an excuse to blame the EU instead of her own incompetence and her own divided parties fault then no it won’t be a waste of time for her.

Can’t wait to have the made in Britain bananas washed down with a cup of made in Britain tea or coffee...

I’m typing this on something designed by a Brit working for an American company which was manufactured in China and then posting it on the World Wide Web (again invented by a Brit but working with a Belgian for a European organisation for Nuclear research. The idea that we can retreat from a. Globalised world is a ridiculous fantasy and the time we’re supposedly retreating to is mainly a fantasy of a proud independent Great Britain standing alone with no acknowledgment of the Empire that was needed to support it.

And again a reminder - you may be happy with food shortages but a lot of people who voted for Brexit were not told it enabled food shortages and wouldn’t have voted for it if that’s what it meant.

For your edification we don't buy bananas from the EU
We don't buy coffee from the EU
We don't buy tea from the EU. There is however tea plantations in southern England
Just goes to show the cr-p you talk.

We buy bananas from countries that have tarrif free access because of deals struck with the EU.
    Same for coffee and tea.

With no deal we will then have to pay tariffs for these products not to mention the difficulty of getting them into the country without delays.

There is one tea plantation in Cornwall. They currently charge 15 pounds for 15 loose leaf tea pyramids.

So what you are saying is that we can not do our own deals with these countries for Bananas tea and coffee.
Pray tell me why we would have difficulty getting the above produce into the country.
I refer to comments made earlier, ye of little faith.

Of course we can do deals but these take time as in a lot longer than the less than 2 months we have. We can not just cut and paste our current deals or we can as a starting point but there is no guarantee that they will be accepted.

Because we will have to do checks on goods from the EU and the moment we do that then we will have gridlock at our ports.

Hey Mr Bananaman do you want to sell any of your bananas, yes please, how many can I have, as manny as you want. When can I have them, they are on the way as we speak, but what about gridlock at the ports, we have ways and means.
That's what I like to hear we will do business again, by the way have you any tea and coffee to sell.

Total rubbish,we do customs checks now looking for immigrants and contraband,we can still wave through low risk cargo and do better checks on high risks, same as now.

We can but under favoured nation WTO rules we have to do the same for all nations - so we can either have checks on goods from all nations creating backlog at ports or we have to have no checks on goods for all nations creating a no standards free for all.
