The odd mishap has occurred through over imbibement and bones have been broken, however I shall always have nothing but the utmost respect for the joy beer brings to our lives.
More or less right, and there's no chance of better under Ashley for sure. However, I do expect slightly better. Endless whinging about not having players good enough is unacceptable - why can't he just say "I gave a bunch of realistic players names to Charnley and Ashley, they haven't delivered as usual". He's better off trying to get sacked calling them out than walking away for nowt!! I expect better than sticking by an awful and disinterested Kenedy. I expect a better use of money than what we've spent on Murphy, Hanley, Lazaar, Joselu, Gayle (to an extent) and Muto. I expect a better style of football than the utter dross we watched in the FA Cup. He's got two hands tied behind his back, make no mistake, but he's far from above criticism.
Crazy. He is the perfect man for this job. It is about maximising what you get out of what is probably the 16th or 17th worst squad in the division. As a coach he is right up there regardless what you think of his general work. That is what we need right now because the likelihood is this is our squad for the rest of the season. If we get behind him and the players it will help.
If Alan Suddick and Trevor Hockey can dominate midfield against De Bruyne and David Silva then a handsome victory is more than possible. I share your optimism about Barrie Thomas, his goals per game record is as good as anyone who's worn a black and white shirt, however I can't see Ollie Burton keeping Aguero quiet for 90 mins. I'm going for a 3-1 win with Thomas getting 2 and a rare goal for Dick Keith.
Is this not a case of bringing in the cultured footballing skills of McNamee to combat Ageurro in place of Ollie?
Newcastle haven't beaten Man City in the league since September 2005. Up front for Newcastle: Owen and Shearer. Up front for Man City: Sibierski and Vassell
McNamee was the reason the club stopped using straw bales round the pitch in the winter. He used to eat them.
I remember an FA Cup match against Carlisle and Willie Carlin who was the smallest player in the football league at the time( about 5' tall ) scored with a header to put them 1 up. We later got a penalty and Alan Ross the Carlisle keeper saved Ollie Burton's penalty who continued his run and booted Alan Ross as he lay on the deck. Mayhem ensued......
I see there is a lot of transfer news coming in at the last minute - maybe to quell any trouble ahead of tonights game media outlets reported on Tuesday evening that a deal was close for the Atlanta United player Miguel Almiron, who is believed set to join Newcastle for a club record £20m fee Tuesday also brought claims of two potential loan arrivals at Gallowgate before the current transfer window closes at 11pm on Thursday. 29 year-old Greek central midfielder Andreas Samaris is surplus to requirements at current club Benfica and linked with Newcastle since 2017. Also allegedly in talks over a temporary switch to Tyneside is Monaco's 23 year-old, Italian-born left back Antonio Barreca.
