Ouch! I’ve met him quite a few times, nice guy, not up himself, very happy to gas about the good old days. I’ve never debated anything overly intellectual with him though so couldn’t really comment on his grey matter. Not that I’d have noticed... he wouldn’t need many brain cells to be batting in a higher intellectual league than me anyway!
I have been in touch with my very very good mate Ian and he now says fk it, Clarke is going. Well done Jock
Was it Steve Bull who went to open a new library at a school and the head said something like, 'these are books Steve, something I'd imagine you're not to familiar with'. Can't remember exactly but it wasn't good.
According to Paul Merson, the more possession a team has the more energy they use up, and so the quicker they tire. He was talking about how Bielsa's teams in the past have tailed off dramatically in the second half of the season.
Unfair that. Radz & the club haven't linked us to anyone, the saddo's of twitter and the click bait sites have linked us to 5-15 million players, none of whom reported we were going to sign Casilla from Real.
I have read a lot of interesting posts over the last few days and would like to say this, and these are my views:- A football club is a business, a business that the books have to be balanced or go down the same path as we did when Ridsdale imploded the club, dont think anyone wants that again, it was painful. Radz..........This man has been the best owner of LUFC the last 15 yrs IMO. bought back the club and TA, put in place the best Academy and youth structure and Manager since Don Revie, again at a price, but it shows ambition and intentions, we have in the past put up with dross with maybe the exception of Grayson, but a certain cocknee gangster Bates saw to the end of that and caused more pain besides, along with Cellino and GFH, no need to carry on down those lines, but Bates raped the club in broad daylight and nothing was done by it, so personally i think Radz has shown his intent along with his wallet in trying to get us back into the big time. Orta.........We were after his head with the signings last season, Klick, Alioski just to name a couple, he sourced Casilla from Real Madrid also had a massive part in getting Bielsa at Leeds, all names we had never heard of till they arrived, well the whole football league know them now, all with the backing of Radz. I was a personal fan of Viera and when he was sold i was a tad naffed off, but where would he of fit in this team? we will never know now. Bielsa....... we have all heard of the saying "make a silk purse from a sows ear" well he has just done that, Philips, Alioski and Klick are the prime example, even Cooper has become a better player and we never thought that would happen, he has introduced a new pattern of play, a play that some teams have tried to copy and failed, Lampard at Derby is a prime example. Bielsa is introducing young players from the academy, an academy that many Premier league clubs are envious of, again Radz has sanctioned this along with Orta getting young possible star players put pen to paper, the future looks good if we keep them all. Fans........ well we all deserve a massive round of applause and more besides, best away supporters in all the leagues, stayed with the club, supported them when we were down and out of contention in previous seasons, they have put their hard earned money into the club and the support is second to none. To sum up the above, lets try and not get on peoples cases so easily, lets look at the bigger picture and enjoy the ride, well we might as well as one body of people because everyone else hates us and that includes the FA, but we dont mind that "we are Leeds and were proud of it". Bring it on MOT
Fine post sir... and agree with all of it.. except orta. If I agree to that jammy will demand I write a personal written apology to him and my Spanish is even worse than my English... if such a thing were possible .
Looks like Swansea have managed to unload Bony and the rumours are the James deal is off, they will no longer need to sell, James has also been included in the Swansea squad for tonight.
Nice post and I have to agree with Milkyboy, I can't ignore the too many failiures of Orta to consider him good. Yes he got Bielsa and Casilla but first time around he got Felix/Lonergan and Heckingbottom/Thomas even at the start of this season, far too much time was spent chasing Hernandez and Vydra that were never going to happen and we end up with an injury prone Bamford and a couple of failed loans. Orta for me is average at best, sign 18 players and 4 turn out okay, well that isn't good enough for me.
If true, it would go a long way to explaining why this signing has been so long drawn out - they were hoping they'd get rid & keep the cheaper talent.
