Some great games in the past, the 5-5 is the stuff of legend, but there were two away games in 75-76 that stick in the mind for different reasons. the first was an FA Cup replay after a 0-0 at Loftus Road. In the replay I don't think I've ever seen such a one-sided 1st half, we totally dominated, Stan hit the post with a penalty, we hit the woodwork three times and must've had 75% possession yet we went off 1-0 down to a breakaway goal. Despite equalising we conceded a late goal to lose 2-1. A 500+ mile round trip in freezing January for such a disappointing outcome.

The second match in the league was during that great late run where we won 11 out of 12 before the Norwich disaster. A much closer game seemed to be heading for a draw when stan popped iin the winner with the last kick of the match, an enjoyable revenge for the cup game and it kept the dream alive.

Great days and hopefully there will be more to come!

Think he'd be one of a very very small group of ex players who'd get a nice welcome.

    Let's hope it's another cracker of a game! <cheers>

Maybe, did a good job when we needed him though, I like to think he'll get a warm cheer when his name is called out.

Not sure if he would get good reception - Marlon Harewood got 1 hell of a booing after scoring 5 in 9 or 10 games for us lol

Harewood was such a terrible player but looked OK in the Championship. I hope One Size plays, I also hope Anton plays.

I will be clapping wor Joey though.

Bit off topic I know but do you Toon guys miss Chris Hughton - or is Pardew a definite improvement?

Miss Hughton. Pardew is a puppet and a liar imo. Chris Hughton backed us up, had a real team spirit and now its all gone. Was good whilst it lasted.

Like many, couldn't believe he got kicked out after what he'd done in restoring Toon pride... Yeah I know he got the recovery going in the Champ but he'd taken you to a comfortable mid table spot. Weird.
