    I'd like to visit them..

Is it so wrong to be proud of them?

I;ve seen the killing fields in Cambodia, but i'd liie to do the D Day stuff.

Been to Auschwitz about five years.
Definitely recommend it to anyone with an interest in WW2 etc.
Strange experience. We kind of felt embaressed to tell people we where going. But really glad we did

Yeah me too went 5 years ago. Got the private tour instead of doing the group thing. Always remember the guy telling us the prisoners had about 3 seconds each to get a wash and if they had bad hygiene they’d be shot. Incredible day, one of the best things I’ve ever done, in a weird way. Birkenau was huge, you could picture it all so vividly when you were stood there on the camp.

    The private tour sounds good.
When we went there was alot of school trips. I have to say they where all very respectful, but would have prefered to visit at a quieter time.
I didn’t realise the scale of the place until I went. Truly horrifying, but also fascinating hiw this could happen in modern times

Never been but it’s something that would interest me to see

Have done the battlefields etc of the first war, that’s a pretty humbling experience too.

And still does. Think Rwanda, Sudan, and even Europe in Bosnia in the 90's

Yeah there was no need for head sets and you could ask more questions obviously given it was just 3 of us and the tour guide.

Anyway having a bit of a mooch day today. Took my mum out for breakfast this morning. Then walked the dog. Paid my tax bill. Pick up the little un from school in a bit and then make dinner for when the missus gets home.

A first radio therapy session of the year for me today, no doubt I will be glowing in the dark tonight, no scorched rectum though so that is a plus I suppose.. :)

Did Belsen when I worked in Germany early 80's, the birds don't even sing in that place. The memory will live forever, we certainly do live in one ****ed up world and normally by one guys ideals that the rest latch onto..

this is what happens when you are only prepared to read your own threads mate...he was about at the time, but chose not to read, as it was someone elses thread.

In fact it was spread across many threads. now he will deny being around at the time,
